Nine species of Munidopsis Whiteaves, 1784, and one species of Galacantha A. Milne-Edwards, 1880 (Crustacea: Decapoda: Galatheidae) are reported from the continental shelf of Australia. Two species are new to science, M. comarge sp. nov. and M. vesper sp. nov. Munidopsis vesper is presently known only from Western Australia, but M. comarge ranges from Western Australia to New Zealand. Six species are reported for the first time from Australian waters, G. subspinosa Macpherson, 2007, M. andamanica MacGilchrist, 1905, M. crenatirostris Baba, 1988, M. hirsutissima Balss, 1913, M. levis (Alcock & Anderson, 1894) and M. nitida (A. Milne-Edwards, 1880). A range extension within Australia is reported for M. dasypus Alcock, 1894 and M. kensleyi Ahyong & Poore, 2004. These new records expand the number of Munidopsis species previously recorded from Australian waters from 15 to 22 and the number of Galacantha species from three to four. A key and illustrated guide to the species now known from Australia is provided.

AbstractThe following new species of Xanthoparmelia (Parmeliaceae) are described from Western Australia: X. cranfieldii Elix, X. elevata Elix, X. kimberleyensis Elix, X. monadnockensisX. nanoides Elix, X. nortegeta Elix, X. sleei Elix and X. toolbrunupensis Elix. In this second part of the study of Australasian Forcipomyia, the subgenus Warmkea and the group of subgenera related to Caloforcipomyia are examined. Warmkea is recorded from the Australasian region for the first time, with a single species, albiacies, sp. nov. Four new species of the subgenus Caloforcipomyia are recorded, two – quokkae, sp. nov., and gibbus, sp. nov. – from Australia (the latter also from New Guinea), and pennaticauda from New Guinea, and new records are provided for squamianulipes Tokunaga & Murachi. The subgenus Metaforcipomyia is also recorded for the first time from the region, with five Australian species – tomaculorum, sp. nov.; colonus, sp. nov.; campana, sp. nov.; rupicola, sp. nov.; crepidinis, sp. nov. – and one new New Guinea species, furculae, sp. nov. In addition, the species novaguineae Tokunaga and stigmatipennis Tokunaga are transferred to Metaforcipomyia from the subgenus Forcipomyia. A new subgenus, Bassoforcipomyia, apparently related to the Caloforcipomyia group, is erected for two new southern Australian species, centurio, sp. nov., and incus, sp, nov. The relationships of these subgenera, and the relationships of species within the subgenera, are discussed.

Many new records are presented of rare water mites from New Zealand. Three new genera are described, i.e. Moanabates n. gen. (Hygrobatidae), Asperaturus n. gen. and Minyaturus n. gen. (Aturidae: Notoaturinae), and ten new species, i.e. Limnesia moanaensis n. sp., L. pseudozelandica n. sp., L. quinqueglandulosa n. sp., Zelandobates tongariro n. sp., Z. occidentalis n. sp., Moanabates moanaensis n. sp., Asperaturus petiolatus n. sp., Minyaturus minutulus n. sp., Paratryssaturus montanus n. sp. and Penemideopsis novaezelandica n. sp. Australiobates lacustris Smit, 1996 is synonymized with Australiobates setipalpis Cook, 1983. The male is for the first time described for Limnesia auspexa Cook, 1983, Apeltosperchon zelandicus Cook, 1983, Australiobates solomis Cook, 1983, Kritaturus vinnulus Cook, 1983 and Taintaturus longipileatus Smit, 2017, the female is for the first time described for Schwoerbelaturus aturoides (Schwoerbel, 1984).

Eight species of Philocheras (Crustacea: Caridea: Crangonidae) are reported from the Northwest Shelf of Western Australia. One species is new to science Philocheras anthonyi sp. nov. Five species are reported for the first time from Australian waters, P. angustirostris (De Man, 1918), P. incisus (Kemp, 1916), P. japonicus (Doflein, 1902), P. modestus (De Man, 1918) and P. plebs (Kemp, 1916). A range extension within Australia is reported for Philocheras lowisi (Kemp, 1916) and P. planoculminus Bruce, 1994. These records expand the number of Philocheras species previously recorded from Australian waters from ten to 16. A revised key and illustrated guide to the species from Australia is provided.

The Pararchaeidae, a family of cryptic spiders known only from Australia and New Zealand, is revised. Six new genera: Anarchaea, gen. nov., Flavarchaea, gen. nov., Forstrarchaea, gen. nov., Nanarchaea, gen. nov., Ozarchaea, gen. nov., Westrarchaea, gen. nov., and 24 new species are described, 23 from mainland Australia and one from New Zealand. Anarchaea, gen. nov. from eastern Australia contains four species: A. corticola (Hickman, 1969), comb. nov. (type species), A. falcata, sp. nov., A. raveni, sp. nov. and A. robusta (Rix, 2005), comb. nov. Flavarchaea from eastern, southern and south-western Australia contains seven species: F. anzac, sp. nov., F. badja, sp. nov., F. barmah, sp. nov., F. hickmani (Rix, 2005), comb. nov., F. lofty, sp. nov., F. lulu (Rix, 2005), comb. nov. (type species) and F. stirlingensis, sp. nov. Forstrarchaea is represented only by the type species F. rubra (Forster, 1949), comb. nov. from New Zealand. Nanarchaea from eastern Australia contains two species: N. bryophila (Hickman, 1969), comb. nov. and N. binnaburra (Forster, 1955), comb. nov. (type species). Ozarchaea from Australia and New Zealand contains 16 species: O. bodalla, sp. nov., O. bondi, sp. nov., O. daviesae, sp. nov., O. forsteri, sp. nov., O. harveyi, sp. nov., O. janineae, sp. nov., O. ornata (Hickman, 1969), comb. nov. (type species), O. platnicki, sp. nov., O. saxicola (Hickman, 1969), comb. nov., O. spurgeon, sp. nov., O. stradbroke, sp. nov., O. valida, sp. nov., O. waldockae, sp. nov., O. werrikimbe, sp. nov., O. westraliensis, sp. nov. and O. wiangarie, sp. nov. Pararchaea Forster, 1955 is represented only by the type species P. alba Forster, 1955 from New Zealand. Westrarchaea, endemic to south-western Western Australia, contains three species: W. pusilla, sp. nov., W. sinuosa, sp. nov. (type species) and W. spinosa, sp. nov. A morphological cladistic analysis of the Pararchaeidae supported monophyly of the genera. Natural history information is summarised for each species where known, and the moulting behaviour, mating behaviour and egg sac of a pararchaeid species are described for the first time.

Three species of the marine isopod genus Serolis Leach, 1818, are recorded from the continental shelf of southern Brazil, i.e., S. elliptica Sheppard, 1933, S . completa Moreira, 1971, and S. similis sp. n. S. elliptica is for the first time reported from off Brazil. The new species S. similis sp. n. is described and figured. New features distinguishing S. completa from S. elliptica are pointed out. The extension range of S. completa is considerably enlarged, being the Lat. 29ºS its new southernmost limit of occurrence, while the range of S. elliptica is extended further northernwards to Lat. 23ºS.

One genus and four species of Xantholinini are described as new: <em>Kamilaroius</em> <em>serpens</em> gen. n., sp. n. and <em>Andelis</em> <em>australis</em> sp. n. from Australia; <em>Zeteotomus</em> <em>caledonicus</em> sp. n. from New Caledonia, and <em>Wangareiella</em> <em>suborbata</em> sp. n. from New Zealand. The male genitalia of <em>Australinus megacephalus</em> (Lea) are figured for the first time. New records of other species of Xantholinini from the Australasian region are listed.

A New Species

New species and new records of caridean shrimps are recorded from New Zealand. The hippolytid genera Leontocaris and Merhippolyte, and pasiphaeid genus Alainopasiphaea are reported for the first time from New Zealand waters, exemplified by three species of Leontocaris, Merhippolyte chacei and Alainopasiphaea australis, respectively. The three species of Leontocaris, M. chacei and A. australis were each previously known only from southern Australia. A new species of Lebbeus, the second to be recorded from New Zealand, is described. Lysmata vittata is recorded for the first time from New Zealand.
