In the genus Triarthron (Coleoptera, Leiodidae, Leiodinae), only two species are known to occur in Palearctic and Nearctic regions. In this paper, a new species in Japan, Triarthron itoi Hoshina, sp. nov., is described. This brings the number of species in the genus to three. A key to the Japanese species of the tribe Sogdini is given.

A new species of soft scale insect (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccidae), Luzulaspis kinakikir Tanaka sp. nov., collected from Carex miyabei (Cyperaceae), on Hokkaido Island, Japan, is described and illustrated based on adult female morphology. The new species, which belongs to the Scotica group of Luzulaspis, is similar to L. filizae Kaydan, 2015, but can be distinguished from it by possessing multilocular pores with fewer loculi; numerous dorsal tubular ducts, obviously wider than the ventral tubular ducts, and by lacking dorsal tubular ducts on the head apex. An updated diagnosis of Luzulaspis and two identification keys, one to the Japanese species of Luzulaspis and the other to the species of the Scotica group of Luzulaspis, are provided.

Japanese species of the genus Zeugophora Kunze, 1818 (Coleoptera, Megalopodidae, Zeugophorinae) are revised. In this publication, Zeugophora annulata (Baly, 1873), Z. unifasciata (Jacoby, 1885), Z. hozumii Chûjô, 1953, Z. japonica Chûjô, 1951, Z. varipes (Jacoby, 1885), Z. chujoi Ohno, 1961, Z. flavonotata (Chûjô, 1935), and Z. gracilis unicolor Chûjô, 1958 are redescribed, with detailed illustrations of the male and female genitalia. Additionally, Z. nigricollis (Jacoby, 1885) is restored to a valid species from junior synonymy with Z. bicolor (Kraatz, 1879), and Z. cupka sp. nov., is described as a new species.

A new species, Fibularia coffea sp. nov., occurs from shallow waters in Japan. This new species is distinguished from the other species of Fibularia by the following characters: test height is low, oral surface is slightly depressed toward the peristome, number of pores of petal III continues to increase with the test growth, reaching over 30 at TL > 7.5 mm, and black pigments form symmetric pentaradial on aboral surface in living animals. Two further Japanese species, Fibularia japonica and F. ovulum, are redescribed based on the type specimens (F. japonica) and additional specimens (F. ovulum), respectively. A tabular key to the extant species of Fibularia is also provided. A partial fragment of the mitochondrial gene cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) of the type specimens of F. coffea sp. nov. and the additional specimen of F. japonica was sequenced for barcoding in future works.

The Northeast Asian species of Kisaura Ross, 1956 (Philopotamidae) are re-examined and males and females of a new species from South Korea are described and illustrated. Kisaura coreana sp. nov. closely resembles K. tsudai (Botoşǎneanu, 1970) and K. hattorii (Kuhara, 1999) described from Japan, but distinguished from the latter two species by the shape of the spiniform processes of segment X in the male genitalia. Further, we conclude that K. kisoensis (Tsuda, 1939) is not a synonym of K. aurascens (Martynov, 1934) because of differences in the genitalia, which was also supported by molecular data. Also, the Neighbor Joining tree shows a clade including both the Japanese species K. nozakii (Kuhara, 1999) and K. borealis  (Kuhara, 1999) with high bootstrap values, especially that for K. nozakii, collected from Hoshu Shiga, Kanzaki-gawa, Kazakoshi-dani (99% bootstrap value). This high value could reflect the possibility that they are the same species and just having differences based on geographic variation in morphological traits. These two species will be the subject of future studies.

The Japanese species of the heterogastrid genus Sadoletus Distant are revised taxonomically. Three species are recog-nized, including a new species, S. ryukyuensis sp. nov., which has been regarded so far as S. valdezi Bergroth in Japan. "True" S. valdezi is confirmed in Japan as well. A key to the Japanese species is provided.

The caddisfly genus Pseudoxyethira Schmid (Hydroptilidae) is revised for Japan. The male of a Japanese species, P. ishiharai (Utsunomiya 1994) is redescribed with new distribution records. A new species, P. funatsuki sp. nov., is described from the southernmost region of Japan. Pseudoxyethira thingana (Oláh 1989), known from Vietnam and southern China, is recorded from Japan for the first time, and its male is redescribed.
