A New Species

The genus Cornutalis Sakakibara currently includes two valid species, Cornutalis cauca Sakakibara, 1997 (from Colombia) and C. valida Sakakibara, 1997 (from Ecuador). Herein, a new species, Cornutalis andinum sp. n., is described from the highlands in Colombia; additionally, a host plant is recorded for the first time for the genus. Also, a distribution map, a key to the species, and observations on the location and preservation state of type-specimens are included.

Pothea carpinteroi sp. nov. (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Reduviidae: Ectrichodiinae) is described based on two male specimens from Mexico. Pothea aeneonitens Stål, 1864 and P. lugens (Fabricius, 1803) are recorded from French Guiana for the first time. Taxonomical notes on these latter two species and P. haematogaster Breddin, 1903 and P. sanguiniventris Miller, 1956 are also presented. A lectotype is designated for P. lugens. Pothea centralis Walker, 1873, treated as a junior synonym of P. lugens by previous authors, is regarded as a potentially valid species. Color variation in the sternites of males and females of P. frontalis (Lepeletier & Serville, 1825) are recorded for the first time. Photographs of the type specimens of P. aeneonitens, P. bivittata Champion, 1899, P. centralis, P. frontalis, P. haematogaster, P. halffteri Carpintero, 1980, P. lugens, P. maculata Champion, 1899, P. reyesi Carpintero, 1980, P. sanguiniventris and P. venatrix Hussey, 1953, are presented.

A New Species

A new species of the genus Birdantis Stål, 1863 (Hemiptera: Fulgoridae), B. bhaskarai sp. nov. from Larat Island (Tanimbar), is described. Birdantis collaris (Walker, 1870) stat. rev. and B. trilineata (Schmidt, 1926) stat. rev. are reinstated as valid species, respectively from status of subspecies and as junior synonym of B. delibuta Stål, 1863. These four species, as well as the other one previously described from the Maluku Islands, B. decens Stål, 1863, are illustrated from their type specimens. An identification key, a distribution map, illustrations of habitus and details of male genitalia are provided. The synonymy between Myrilla Distant, 1888 and Birdantis is formally reinstated and all species formerly placed in the subgenus Birdantis (Myrilla) are transferred to Birdantis sensu stricto. Birdantis is transferred to the subfamily Aphaeninae Blanchard, 1847 and now contains eighteen species distributed in Maluku (five species), New Guinea and neighbouring islands (ten species) and Australia (three species).

AbstractA new nematode species Dichelyne (Cucullanellus) sciaenidicola sp. nov. is described based on specimens collected from the Whitemouth croaker Micropogonias furnieri (Desmarest) and the Argentine croaker Umbrina canosai Berg, from coastal waters of Argentina and Brazil. These nematodes were firstly identified as D. (C.) elongatus (Törnquist, 1931), a commonly reported species from M. furnieri in South American Atlantic waters. However, other species of Dichelyne have so far been reported from this host in the same area, namely D. (C.) rodriguesi (Pinto, Fábio et Noronha, 1970), D. (C.) amaruincai (Freitas, Vicente et Ibañez, 1969) and D. (Dichelyne) micropogonii Pereira et Costa, 1996. A careful re-examination of these parasites, as well as of type specimens of all species reported from M. furnieri, revealed that these nematodes represented a new species. The new species is distinguished from most of its congeners by having papillae 5–7 and 9 forming a subventral line close to cloaca, this feature is shared with other 6 species [D. (C.) dichelyneformis (Szidat, 1950), D. (C.) fraseri (Baylis, 1929), D. (C.) abbreviatus (Rudolphi, 1819), D. (C.) adriaticus (Törnquist, 1931), D. (C.) minutus (Rudolphi, 1819) and D. (C.) mariajuliae Alarcos, Timi, Etchegoin et Sardella, 2006)], which are readily distinguished by their body size, spicules length, distribution patterns of other papillae and position of the excretory pore and deirids. Also, D. (C.) elongatus from Umbrina canariensis (Valenciennes) from West Africa is established as a new species Dichelyne (Cucullanellus) yvonnecampanae sp. nov.; D. (C.) amaruincai from Pacific waters is considered as a valid species, D. (D.) micropogonii is regarded as species inquirendae and D. (C.) rodriguesi is identified as Cucullanus sp.

The new species of a ladybird beetle, Cryptogonus bhalwalnensis Azad & Wang sp. nov. is described from Pakistan. Cryptogonus nepalensis bhutanensis Bielawski is recorded for the first time from Pakistan. Both species of Cryptogonus from Pakistan are diagnosed and illustrated; a distribution map is also presented.

We propose a revision of the spider genus Corythalia C.L. Koch, 1850 (Salticidae: Euophryini) with a revised genus diagnosis based on examination of all species available to us. In this paper we redescribe all previously described species from South America with revised species diagnoses and describe 20 new species from South America (and the nearby islands). For C. latipes, the type species of the genus Corythalia, a neotype is designated. In total, 52 nominal species of the genus are herein treated, 46 species are recognized as valid. The females of C. waleckii Taczanowski, 1871, C. luctuosa Caporiacco, 1954 and C. latipes (C.L. Koch, 1846) are described for the first time. Corythalia sellata Simon, 1901, erroneously considered as nomen nudum in the present version of the World Spider Catalog, is here recognised as a valid species. Corythalia fulgipedia Crane, 1948 is also considered a valid species and is removed from the synonymy of C. tropica (Mello-Leitão, 1939). One name is considered a nomen dubium (Corythalia variegata Caporiacco, 1954), two are nomina nuda (C. major Simon, 1901; C. dimidiata Simon, 1901). Two species are transferred to other genera: C. argyrochrysos (Mello-Leitão, 1946) to Pachomius Peckham & Peckham, 1896 as Pachomius argyrochrysos (Mello-Leitão, 1946), comb. nov. and C. heliophanina (Taczanowski, 1871) to Neonella Gertsch, 1936, as Neonella heliophanina (Taczanowski, 1871), comb. nov. under incertae sedis. One species is synonymised: C. barbipes (Mello-Leitão, 1939) is a junior synonym of C. cincta (Badcock, 1932), syn. nov. The new Corythalia species are: C. conferta sp. nov. (♂♀, Brazil), C. concinna sp. nov. (♀, Brazil), C. drepane sp. nov. (♂♀, Brazil), C. drepanopsis sp. nov. (♀, Brazil), C. antepagmenti sp. nov. (♂♀, Brazil), C. ricti Bayer, sp. nov. (♂, Guyana), C. protensa sp. nov. (♂, Brazil), C. gasnieri sp. nov. (♂, Brazil), C. verhaaghi sp. nov. (♀, Brazil), C. scutellaris Bayer, sp. nov. (♂♀, Ecuador), C. dakryodes Bayer, sp. nov. (♀, Colombia), C. foelixi Bayer, sp. nov. (♂♀, French Guiana), C. longiducta sp. nov. (♀, Brazil), C. latior sp. nov. (♂, Bolivia), C. trochophora Bayer, sp. nov. (♂, Ecuador), C. lineata Bayer, sp. nov. (♂, Guyana), C. hamulifera Bayer, sp. nov. (♂, Ecuador), C. tribulosa sp. nov. (♂, Colombia), C. flagrans sp. nov. (♂, Brazil) and C. fragilis sp. nov. (♂♀, Brazil). Illustrations are provided for all of the new species and for all (primary) type specimens of the species re-described. Hypotheses of possible relationships among the different species of Corythalia are discussed.

The genus Leucolopha Hampson, 1896 is reviewed. Leucolopha sinica Chen & Wang, sp. nov., from China is described and illustrated; a distribution map and a key to males of Leucolopha species are provided. The type specimens of the new species are deposited in the Insect Collections of Department of Entomology, South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou, P. R. China.

Themus (Telephorops) davidis species-group is redefined and we present a catalogue, identification key and distribution map for this group. Some previously known species are redescribed and we provide new illustrations of female internal genitalia, abdominal sternite VIII and/or aedeagus. Further, we report new distribution data. A new species, Themus (Telephorops) hainanus sp. nov. from China (Hainan) is described, and Themus (Telephorops) birmanicus Wittmer, 1983 is recorded from China for the first time.

A New Species

The leafhopper genus Plumosa was erected by Sohi (1977). It belongs to the tribe Erythroneurini of Typhlocybinae with Plumosa emarginata Sohi, 1977 from India as its type species. Until now, there have been no further reports on this genus. Here the genus is reported for the first time from China and a new Chinese species is described and illustrated. The type specimens are deposited to the collection of the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, Guizhou (IEGU) and Illinois Natural History Survey (INHS).

The subgenus Mimencaustes Heller is recorded from mainland China for the first time. One new species, Micrencaustes (Mimencaustes) acridentata sp. nov., is described in this paper. A taxonomic account and an annotated checklist of the Finnish Mymaridae (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea) are given, comprising 85 named species in 19 genera. Among them 2 genera, Dicopus Enock, 1909 and Stethynium Enock, 1909, 1 subgenus, Anagrus (Paranagrus Perkins, 1905), and the following 25 species represent new records for Finland: Anagrus (Anagrus) avalae Soyka, 1956, A. (Anagrus) bakkendorfi Soyka, 1946, A. (Anagrus) ensifer Debauche, 1948, A. (Anagrus) nigriceps (Smits van Burgst, 1914), A. (Anagrus) obscurus Förster, 1861, A. (Anagrus) parvus Soyka, 1956, A. (Anagrus) subfuscus Foerster, 1847, A. (Caraphractus), stat. revid., and its type species Caraphractus cinctus Walker, 1846 is transferred to Eustochus as Eustochus (Caraphractus) cinctus (Walker, 1846), comb. nov. Eustochus (Eustochus) koponeni Triapitsyn, sp. nov. is described from Finland and Germany. Lymaenon gracilentus (Hellén, 1974), stat. restit. is resurrected as a valid species from the previous synonymy with Lymaenon aureus and redescribed. The previously unknown male of Alaptus schmitzi Soyka, 1939 is described. Polynema depressicollis Hellén, 1974, syn. nov., is synonymized with Polynema (Doriclytus) vitripenne. Anagrus (Paranagrus) optabilis is newly recorded from the Canary Islands and Madeira, and Cleruchus megatrichus is for the first time reported from France.
