The Chinese fauna of Themus Motschulsky, 1858 is studied. Two new species are described: Themus (Haplothemus) quadratiformis sp. nov. (China: Shaanxi) and T. (H.) longideverticulum sp. nov. (China: Yunnan). Themus (Haplothemus) mishmiensis Wittmer, 1973 stat. nov. is elevated to the full-species rank from the subspecies of T. (H.) elongatior Pic, 1955, both species are redescribed. The male of T. (H.) quadratus Wittmer, 1983 and the female of T. (H.) weishanensis Kopetz, 2016 are described for the first time. The species are illustrated with aedeagus and habitus of male, abdominal sternite VIII and internal genitalia of female.

Themus (Telephorops) davidis species-group is redefined and we present a catalogue, identification key and distribution map for this group. Some previously known species are redescribed and we provide new illustrations of female internal genitalia, abdominal sternite VIII and/or aedeagus. Further, we report new distribution data. A new species, Themus (Telephorops) hainanus sp. nov. from China (Hainan) is described, and Themus (Telephorops) birmanicus Wittmer, 1983 is recorded from China for the first time.

Two new species of Megarthrus are described from cloud forests of the Mexican state of Veracruz: M. cavianae Rodríguez, Navarrete-Heredia & Arriaga-Varela sp. nov., and Chiapas:  M. chiapas Cuccodoro sp. nov. They differ from the two hitherto known Mexican species M. altivagans Bernhauer, 1929, and M. alatorreorum Rodríguez & Navarrete-Heredia, 2015, both from temperate forests of the Transmexican Volcanic Belt, by having synapomorphic features of the M. inaequalis-supergroup of species. This lineage includes all the Central and South American members of the genus, with the inclusion of these species, the distribution of the group is extend by more than 5 degree of latitude to the North. Within this lineage, the two new species share a very peculiar morphology of the male abdominal sternite VIII found elsewhere in the genus only in M. flavosignatus Bierig, 1940, and M. zunilensis Sharp, 1887, with which they form the M. zunilensis-group of species defined here.

Acropsis Grant, 1958 is a monotypic genus with records only for Peru (type locality). Acropsis is being redescribed, including the Acropsis tectiformis species and two new species: Acropsis solimoesensis sp. nov. and Acropsis julianae sp. nov. The male internal genitalia and the stridulatory file morphology for the genus is being described for the first time. Furthermore, the genus is registered for the first time for Colombia (Caquetá) and Brazil (Acre and Amazonas) and additionally notes on the habitat are made.

The Stenothemus harmandi species-group has 10 species at present. They are S. harmandi (Bourgeois, 1902) (located in N. India, Nepal); S. holosericus Švihla, 2005, S. orbiculatus Švihla, 2005 and S. subnitidus Švihla, 2005 (N. India); S. distortirudis Y. Yang & X. Yang, 2014, S. laticollis Y. Yang & X. Yang, 2014, S. parallelus Y. Yang & X. Yang, 2014 and S. septimus Y. Yang & X. Yang, 2014 (China: Xizang); S. fugongensis Y. Yang & X. Yang, 2014 (China: Yunnan) and S. leishanensis Y. Yang & X. Yang, 2014 (China: Guizhou). In the present study, two previously-known species are classified into this species-group, S. dentatus Wittmer, 1974 and S. alexandrae Švihla, 2004, of which the latter as a subspecies of the former is upgraded to the specific level and another two new species are discovered and described. Two new species of the Stenothemus harmandi species-group are described, S. acuticollis sp. n. (China: Yunnan) and S. nigricolor sp. n. (China: Xizang), which are illustrated with habitus photos and aedeagi of males, abdominal sternites VIII and internal genitalia of females. S. alexandrae Švihla, 2004 stat. n. is upgraded from a subspecies of S. dentatus Wittmer, 1974 and the two species are classified into this species-group. Characters of the female reproductive system are described for the first time for the following species: S. distortirudis Y. Yang & X. Yang, 2014; S. laticollis Y. Yang & X. Yang, 2014; S. leishanensis Y. Yang & X. Yang, 2014; S. orbiculatus Švihla, 2005; S. septimus Y. Yang & X. Yang, 2014 and S. subnitidus Švihla, 2005. Meanwhile, some additional distribution information is added for previously-described species. A key for the identification of all species is updated.

Two new species are described, Elanela colombiana sp. nov. from Colombia, with disk of scutellum callused, ivory and abdominal sternite VIII immaculate medially, and Elanela ecuatoriana sp. nov., from Ecuador, distinguished by legs with black spots and the dorsal rim and ventral rim of pygophore with a medial process. Illustrations of habitus and genitalia of each species are provided and the distributional map was updated to include the new species and a new record of E. jordi. Additionally, the identification key to the species of Elanela is updated to include the new species.

Two new species and a new record of Calycomyza Hendel are described for the Brazilian Amazon: Calycomyza rolandrae sp. nov. and Calycomyza dryas sp. nov. This is the first time we recorded Calycomyza hyptisicola Spencer and Calycomyza richardsi (Spencer) in Brazil. These species can be distinguished by the structure of the male terminalia, but the female terminalia can be an important taxonomic character, especially the ninth abdominal sternite, ninth abdominal tergite and the marginal seta.

New collections of New Zealand ancorinid sponges with sanidasters, regular and sanidaster-like microrhabds, andamphiaster-like microscleres, has prompted us to review the integrity of ancorinid genera Ancorina Schmidt, EcionemiaBowerbank, and Stryphnus Sollas (Demospongiae, Astrophorida, Ancorinidae). The varietal name in Ancorina progressa(von Lendenfeld 1907) var. diplococcus Dendy, 1924 has been elevated to full species status, and A. stalagmoides (Dendy,1924) has been redescribed. Two new species, A. bellae sp. nov., from the Three Kings Islands, and A. globosa sp. nov.,from Campbell Rise, have been described. Two New Zealand species previously assigned to Ancorina by Dendy (1924)have been transferred to Ecionemia: E. alata (Dendy 1924) and E. novaezelandiae (Dendy 1924). The genus Stryphnus isrecorded for the first time in New Zealand waters, and 6 new species are described here; S. poculum sp. nov., S. levis sp.nov., S. novaezealandiae sp. nov., S. spelunca sp. nov., and S. atypicus sp. nov. Specimens identified as Asteropus simplex(Carter 1879) by Dendy (1924) and Bergquist (1968), a genus without triaenes, have been transferred to Stryphnus and renamed as S. ariena sp. nov., as all specimens contained rare triaenes.

Twenty previously known species of Fissocantharis Pic, 1921 and Micropodabrus Pic, 1920 from Taiwan are illustrated and described with the genitalia of both sexes and or abdominal sternite VIII of female. The following reconfirmed combinations are proposed, Micropodabrus chujoi (Wittmer, 1972), M. mucronata (Wittmer, 1979), M. multicostata (Wittmer, 1982) and M. nodicornis (Wittmer, 1982), which were all originally described in Kandyosilis Pic, 1929. Two new species are described, Fissocantharis nigriceps Y. Yang & Okushima sp. nov. and Micropodabrus brunneipennis Y. Yang & Okushima sp. nov., which are provided with the illustrations of aedeagus and photos of male habitus.

The genus Pholcus Walckenaer, 1805 is reported from Pakistan for the first time. Two new species of the Pholcus nenjukovi species-group are described: Pholcus hamuchal Yao & Li sp. nov. (Gilgit Baltistan, male and female) and Pholcus kalam Yao & Li sp. nov. (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, male and female). Type material is deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS) in Beijing, China.

In this paper, M. yanomami n. sp., from Brazilian Amazonia, Chaetacis bandeirante n. sp., from Central Brazil, and the males of M. gaujoni Simon, 1897 and M. ruschii (Mello-Leitão, 1945) n. comb. , respectively from Ecuador and Brazil, are described and illustrated for the first time. An ontogenetic series of the last development stages of both sexes of Micrathena excavata (C. L. Koch, 1836) is illustrated and briefly described. Adult females are larger and have longer legs and larger abdomens than adult males. Probably females undergo at least one additional moult before adulthood, compared to males. Micrathena ornata Mello-Leitão, 1932 is considered a junior synonym of M. plana (C. L. Koch, 1836), and M. mastonota Mello-Leitão 1940 is synonymized with M. horrida (Taczanowski, 1873). Acrosoma ruschii Mello-Leitão, 1945 is revalidated, transferred to Micrathena and considered a senior synonym of M. cicuta Gonzaga & Santos, 2004. Chaetacis necopinata (Chickering, 1960) is recorded for Brazil for the first time. Chaetacis incisa (Walckenaer, 1841) is considered a nomen dubium.
