A new species: Katha volynkini Joshi & Singh, sp. nov. is described from Mizoram & Meghalaya (North East India). A checklist of Katha species from the World with a taxonomic key to the Oriental species is provided. A new combination, Katha suffusa (Leech), comb. nov. is established, and L. chekiangica Daniel, is synonymized under K. suffusa.

Aberrasine pangsau, sp. nov. is described as a new from Shergaon, Arunachal Pradesh, North East India. The new species is diagnosed with its closely similar species, A. strigivenata (Hampson, 1894). Additionally, we divide the genus into two species groups and provide the world checklist of the genus.

A new species of iceryine scale insect, Icerya viraktamathi Joshi sp. n. (Hemiptera: Monophlebidae), is described and illustrated based on adult females collected from Magnolia champaca (L.) Baill. ex Pierre (Magnoliaceae) in Meghalaya, North-East India. A taxonomic key to the species of Icerya Signoret known from India is provided. The new species appears to be related to I. zimmermanni, which is known from Indonesia, Thailand and India.

In the present paper, we report the occurrence of the cricket subgenus Gryllitara Chopard, 1931 from India along with the description of a new species, Itara (Gryllitara) pilosa sp. nov., from the state of Kerala, South India. Suitable plates with close-up details have been presented to describe the new species, as well as for Itara (Itara) vietnamensis Gorochov being reported from North East India.

A new species of the genus Ceradocus Costa, 1853 is described from Northeastern Brazil. This species is unique in having: (1) male gnathopod 2 propodus palm ornamented, palmar corner defined by a soft spine; (2) spines along the entire posterior margin of epimeral plate 3, (3) telson with very long apical setae. This new species is the second species of this genus in Brazil. An updated taxonomic key to the Ceradocus of the world is also provided.

The arctiine genus Alphaea Walker, 1855 is distributed in North and North East India, Nepal, southern China and northern Indochina. The genus was recently reviewed by Dubatolov & Kishida (2005). It is subdivided into three subgenera, Alphaea, Flavalphaea Dubatolov & Kishida, 2005 and Nayaca Moore, 1979 and includes 10 valid species. During a lepidopterological expedition to the north-western part of China’s Yunnan Province in May of 2018, an undetermined species of Alphaea was collected. The Chinese specimens have the wing pattern very similar to that of A. (Flavalphaea) khasiana (Rothschild, 1910), but red and black abdomen (that is orange and black in A. khasiana).
