New records of water mites (Acari: Hydrachnidia) from Malaysia are presented. Three species new to science, Torrenticola haliki, Monatractides cameronensis and Atractides cameronensis are described; first records are given for Monatractides parviventris (K. Viets, 1935) and M. roseus (Lundblad, 1941).

Three new water mite (Acari: Hydrachnidia) species are described from Tasmania, Tasmanobates separatus sp. nov., Procorticacarus karanovici sp. nov. and Guineaxonopsis tasmanica sp. nov. The material was collected in 2008 during a biological survey by Tom and Ivana Karanović (Hobart, Tasmania) from surface and interstitial waters of Tasmania. Moreover, a detailed description of Litarachna cf. amnicola Cook, 1986 is given.

New records of six water mite species (Acari: Hydrachnidia) from interstitial waters of India are reported; three of them, viz. Atractides panesari, Albaxona indica and Axonopsis periyar are described as new to science. Atractides gracilis Jin, 1997 is replaced with Atractides jini nom. nov. Moreover, an additional description of the female of Atractides biscutatus Cook, 1967 is given.

The present study is based on the genus Cotesia Cameron,1891 collected from Khuzestan Province in the Southwestern part of Iran during 2016–2017. Nine species (+200 specimens) of the genus Cotesia were collected and identified. We recognised three new species, which we describe and illustrate here: Cotesia elongata Zargar & Gupta sp. nov., C. khuzestanesis Zargar & Gupta sp. nov. and C. zagrosensis Zargar & Gupta sp. nov. Two species are recorded for the first time from Iran: Cotesia cynthiae (Nixon, 1974) and C. glabrata (Telenga, 1955). A faunistic list with species distribution in Iran, a modified key to include the new species and brief diagnoses for the new records from Iran are provided.

This paper deals with a collection of epigean water mites from southern Iran. One new genus, Iranobates, and three new species are described: Iranobates hesabii, Arrenurus iranicus and A. kermanensis. The following species are reported for the first time for Iran: Limnesia pinguipalpis Cook, 1967, Atractides omanensis Smit & Pešić, 2010, Neumania indentata Smit & Pešić 2010, and N. maharashtris Cook, 1967.

New records of seven water mite species of the genus Monatractides K. Viets, 1926 (Acari: Hydrachnidia, Torrenticoli-dae) from streams in West Papua and Papua provinces, New Guinea, Indonesia are presented. Three of them, M. magnus, M. neoaustralicus and M. rivulus, are described as new for science.

Abstract. Three new species of water mites are described from Chile, viz. Pseudohydryphantes chilensis n. sp. (Hydryphantidae), Rhynchaturus dispar n. sp. and Rhynchaturus rucuensis n. sp. (Hygrobatidae). Andesobates magellanicus (Tuzovskij and Stolbov, 2016) is synonymized with A. longipalpis Smit, 2002. The first description is given of the females of Omartacarus ferradasae Cook and Rhynchaturus projectus Cook, and the male of Hygrobatella coriacea quiponensis Cook. Moreover, many new records are given, and two species are reported new for the fauna of Chile (not including the new species described in this paper).

Water mites from Southern Argentinean streams, from Neuquén Province in the north to Tierra del Fuego Province in the south, were examined. One new genus is described, viz. Andesobates as well as three new species, viz. Anisitsiellides australis, Protolimnesia (Protolimnesia) pampaensis and Andesobates longipalpis. New observations are made for a number of other species, some of these new records representing a considerable range extension. Finally, additional illustrations are provided for Protolimnesia longa Besch.

New material of water mites (Acari: Hydrachnidia) from the Uttarakhand State of India is reported, including a new species, Kongsbergia indica sp. nov. (Aturidae), and new records of the species Sperchon garhwalensis Kumar, Kumar & Pešić, 2007, Sperchon indicus Kumar, Kumar & Pešić, 2007, and Atractides indicus Pešić & Smit, 2007. Moreover, in the light of the newly discovered male of Torrenticola turkestanica (Sokolow, 1926), populations from South Korea and Thailand formerly assigned to the latter species are here attributed to two new species, i.e., T. wonchoeli sp. nov. and T. rangareddyi sp. nov., respectively.

AbstractMorphological, life history, and distributional data are presented for North American species of the subgenus Stygomomonia (sensu stricto) Szalay, 1943. Adults of the seven previously recognized species are redescribed, and deutonymphs of five of these species are described for the first time. Two species, S. (s.s.) neomexicana Cook and S. (s.s.) occidentalis Cook are substantially revised on the basis of an examination of the types and extensive series of newly collected specimens. Three new species are described, S. (s.s.) californiensis on the basis of deutonymphs and adults, and S. (s.s.) imamurai and S. (s.s.) cooki on the basis of adults. A new diagnosis of the subgenus is proposed and discussed, the relationships of the various species are discussed, and a key to deutonymphs and adults of North American species is presented. New distributional data are presented for all species, and dispersal patterns from Pleistocene refugia are discussed.
