Earned value analysis (EVA) is a well-known project management tool for monitoring and forecasting the project performance such as time and cost. Despite the benefits found in the manufacturing industry, EVA has not been widely implemented in the Malaysian construction industry. This study is aimed to determine the advantages of EVA over other project control methods, to determine the suitability of implementing EVA in construction projects, and to develop a working flowchart as a guide in implementing EVA. Accordingly, qualitative approaches including the structured interview survey and the flowchart development were employed in this study. Findings reveal that comparing to stochastic methods, Fuzzy logic model, and miscellaneous methods, the EVA has remarkable advantages in accuracy, flexibility, and adaptability for complexity. Malaysian government has decided to implement EVA to enhance the level of project management for the whole country. Hence, an EVA working flowchart was developed by the authors, through which more de- tailed project status could be monitored and more accurate future performance of the project could be forecasted.

The project management system has many tools and techniques to control projects' main elements schedule, cost, quality, risk, communications and procurements to attain project success and high performance. Earned value analysis (EVA) is the most effective tool to measure project performance which is widely used by many organisations such as Defence Acquisition University; National Aeronautics and Space Administration; Society of Cost Estimates and Analysis; and Project Management Institute (PMI)  to measure project performance and control it through cost and schedule,  which are illustrated into graphs to forecast the project results to be shared and reported to top management, stakeholders and client in regular basis taking into consideration the other factors such as risk management, project environment, quality, safety, control charts, and sustainability to attain highly performance. Proposed methodology in the presented paper to implement the integrated EVA in an effective and uncomplicated way to attain project success and high performance using an automated sheet to perform analysis for an anonymous hospital design project with the total duration of seven months and illustrates and summarises the key factors based on previous studies and project examples.

This manuscript provides a robust framework for the extraction of common structural components, such as columns, from terrestrial laser scanning point clouds acquired at regular rectangular concrete construction projects. The proposed framework utilizes geometric primitive as well as relationship-based reasoning between objects to semantically label point clouds. The framework then compares the extracted objects to the planned building information model (BIM) to automatically identify the as-built schedule and dimensional discrepancies. A novel method was also developed to remove redundant points of a newly acquired scan to detect changes between consecutive scans independent of the planned BIM. Five sets of point cloud data were acquired from the same construction site at different time intervals to assess the effectiveness of the proposed framework. In all datasets, the framework successfully extracted 132 out of 133 columns and achieved an accuracy of 98.79% for removing redundant surfaces. The framework successfully determined the progress of concrete work at each epoch in both activity and project levels through earned value analysis. It was also shown that the dimensions of 127 out of the 132 columns and all the slabs complied with those in the planned BIM.

Machine Learning Regression Techniques (MLRT) as a shrewd method can be utilized in this study being exceptionally fruitful in demonstrating non-linear and the interrelationships among them in problems of construction projects such as the earned value indexes for tall buildings projects in Republic of Iraq. Three forecasting models were developed to foresee Schedule Performance Index (SPI) as first model, Cost Performance Index (CPI) as a second model, and the third model is To Complete Cost Performance Indicator (TCPI) in Bismayah New City was chosen as a case study. The methodology is mainly impacted by the deciding various components (variables) which impact on the earned value analysis, six free factors (X1: BAC, Budget at Completion; X2: AC, Actual Cost; X3: A%, Actual Percentage; X4: EV, Earned Value; X5: P%, Planning Percentage, and X6: PV, Planning Value) were self-assertively assigned and agreeably depicted for per tall buildings projects. It was found that the MLRT showed good results of estimation in terms of correlation coeffi cient (R) generated by MLR models for SPI and CPI and TCPI where the R were 85.5%, 89.2%, and 86.3% respectively. At long last, a result tends to be presumed that these models show a brilliant concurrence with the genuine estimations.

The Ariba Implementation at MED-X case is designed to teach students how to analyze a program that is experiencing problems and recommend solutions. Specifically, the case introduces students to earned value analysis and program oversight for an e-procurement technology program. The case centers on MED-X's need to quickly discover why the company's e-procurement implementation project was not going according to plan. Once a cause has been discovered, students will need to make a recommendation to fix the problem. Data for the simplified program, consisting of two concurrent projects, is given to students, who should in turn analyze the project using earned value analysis. The case is an easy introduction to program management and oversight for executives and MBA students, and teaches the essentials of earned value project management.Students will learn how to control and act in oversight of large complex programs, as well as how to apply earned value metrics to analyze a simplified program consisting of two projects. Analyzing the project enables students to learn the strengths and pitfalls of the earned value approach. From a management decision perspective, the case gives students the tools to succinctly answer the questions: How much will the project cost? How long will it take? What is wrong with the project?

The focus of earned value management is the deviation ( schedule variance and cost deviation ) to determine the project, by determining the deviation monitor project status . Discussion earned value analysis methods use a combination of project management . Earned Value Analysis method as an effective project monitoring tools, you can maximize avoid state ( time and cost ) project-specific business and technical implementation of the project 's content and confused together, intuitively given project status information.
