This paper describes a graduate level training program for personnel in education and rehabilitation of blind and visually impaired people in New Zealand. Massey University diploma in Rehabilitation is a new program for those with practical experience and an existing degree or professional qualification in a related field. Candidates may take all of their work extramurally (i.e., by correspondence), except for those in mobility.

This paper presents the development of a new mobile phone dialler application which is designed to help blind and visually impaired people make phone calls. The new mobile phone dialler application is developed as a windows phone application to facilitate entering information to touch screen mobile phones by blind people. This application is advantageous through its innovative concept, its simplicity and its availability at an affordable cost. Feedback from users showed that this new application is easy to use and solves many problems of voice recognition applications such as inaccuracy, slowness and interpretation of unusual voices. In addition, this application has increased the users ability to dial phone numbers more independently and less stressfully.

-At present the currency recognition for visually impaired and blind people has becomes a vital topic for the researchers in the different applications. The money exchange is an important part of our daily life activities. But it becomes very difficult for visually impaired and blind people to recognize the currency values in the financial exchanges and they easily betrayed by the other people. Accordingly, there seems an urgent requirement to scheme a framework that is useful in recognizing paper money notes accurately. There is a huge area for currency differential detection and it has evolved over many years. The paper explores currency identification and provides a comprehensive overview of the current literature on techniques for identifying currency notes, encouraging the survey effort to provide an effective system for blind and visually impaired people
