Ewing sarcoma is a malignant primitive neuroectodermal tumor, primarily affecting the long bones in young children and adolescents. It is a rare disease but is the most common malignancy of the chest wall, accounting for 6%–16% of chest wall cancers. We report a case of Ewing sarcoma of the rib presenting with massive hemothorax in a teenage boy, with rapid disease progression.

AbstractPrimitive neuroectodermal tumors (PNET) are very rare tumors that belong to a family of malignant neoplasms of tiny round cells which are derived from the neural crest. This report discusses a rare case of an adult woman with esophageal PNET, confirmed by immunohistochemistry, that presented with metastasis to the pineal gland. To our knowledge, this is the first case report of a PNET with these features. Despite surgery and chemotherapeutic treatment, our case has shown disease progression.

Nonossifying fibroma is a benign, lytic lesion that occurs in young children and adolescents. Radiographically, the lesion is multilocular and sharply demarcated. It often occurs at the metaphyseal region of long bones of the lower extremity and is usually eccentrically located. Four cases of nonossifying fibroma occurring during the past 7 years are presented with a review of the literature.
