The friction and wear properties of the water lubricated rubber bearing, made of the nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR), were studied in this article. The results showed that adding the appropriate amounts of carbon black and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) could reduce the friction coefficient and the abrasion loss to the minimum values. Meanwhile, the general laws of the two parameters with different loads, rotational speeds and lubricant media have been discovered: the values of friction coefficient and abrasion loss of the rubber bearing, lubricated in both water and seawater, increase firstly and then gradually decrease with the increasing loads. When the loads exceed 500N, the values increase drastically. And the values of friction coefficient and abrasion loss decline with the increasing rotating speed. Moreover, the values of these two parameters in seawater were a little bit higher than those in water. The friction and wear mechanisms of water lubricated rubber bearing were also discussed..

In this paper, phenolic resin-based composite materials were prepared using glass fiber instead of asbestos for the oil driller brake friction materials, and its impact performance and friction and wear properties were investigated, and compared with performance of asbestos containing material. The results showed that the impact strength of glass fiber reinforced material were higher than that of asbestos reinforced material. When the friction speeds were constant, the friction coefficient of asbestos reinforced material changed in the range of 0.308~0.4302, and the glass fiber reinforced material was 0.308~0.425.The glass fiber can replace asbestos as a reinforced material for oil driller brake friction materials.

Based on actual working conditions and parameters of the hydraulic steering gear, the purpose is optimizing the rubber seal of steering gear by different rubbers mixing technology. Compare the five kinds of rubber with metal of the friction characteristics in dynamic fit, it can obtain a performance excellent rubber real in the specific operation conditions. And then improve the overall service life of the steering gear. It is first prepared the same hardness TPU and PVC and blends that the ratio is 3:7, 5:5and7:3 in this article. The pros and cons of the five rubbers are analyzed in friction and wear properties of the above experimental. The test curve of coefficient friction and wear with time has been done under different load at constant low speed. It determines TPU/PVC = 3:7 blends through friction and wear and wear mechanism of five rubbers with steel comparatively analyses, and the heat resistance and wear resistance of them are better than the other TPU/PVC blends and PVC under oil lubrication conditions.
