We report an extremely rare case of a patient with a total avulsion of the spermatic cord secondary to a blunt inguinal trauma. Doppler ultrasound was used to identify an absence of vascular flow and an indication for exploratory surgery. The retroperitoneum was accessed for hemostasis. Spermatic cord injury after blunt trauma is extremely rare but should be considered as a cause of an avascular testis after trauma.

AbstractLiposarcoma in the inguinal region though rare are clinically significant lesions. Preoperative diagnosis is difficult since the clinical findings are very similar to that of inguinal hernia. We report a rare case of Liposarcoma of the spermatic cord in 85 year old male, clinically diagnosed as left sided indirect inguinal hernia. Surgical excision specimen showed multiple globular lipomatous masses which were yellowish and grey tan with areas of myxoid degeneration and necrosis seen. Microscopic examination showed adipocytes arranged in lobules with numerous blood vessels, lipoblasts and myxoid stroma confirming the diagnosis of myxoid liposarcoma. He is on regular follow up since two years without any recurrence or metastasis. Our case report highlights the importance of sampling and examination of fatty masses in the inguinal region to rule out the possibility of liposarcoma as they are mistaken for lipoma at surgery.

Liposarcomas are malignant tumors derived embryologically from mesodermal tissues. An unusual site of presentation is the spermatic cord, presenting as an inguinal or scrotal mass. We report a rare case of a liposarcoma of the spermatic cord, mimicking a testicular tumor. The patient was operated, and an orchidectomy, including the tumor, was performed. To our knowledge, there are about 185 similar cases reported in the literature.

Neck manipulation is associated with spinal cord injury. However, occurrence of such cases is infrequent. This article presents a 33-year-old gentleman who sustained acute tetraplegia after neck manipulation. The aim of this case report is to create awareness that vigorous neck manipulation could cause injury to the spinal cord.

Blunt trauma abdomen leading to gallbladder perforation is a rare event usually recognized on evaluation and treatment of other visceral injuries during laparotomy. The gallbladder is relatively a well-protected organ. Isolated gallbladder perforation is extremely rare. The clinical presentation is variable, early diagnosis and treatment is of extreme importance to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with gallbladder perforation. We report a case of a patient who sustained isolated gallbladder injury following blunt trauma abdomen to emergency department in Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.

Vaginal evisceration is a surgical emergency. It's a rare but potentially fatal disorder. Only a few examples of transvaginal omental evisceration have been reported worldwide, however no evidence of post-trauma abdominal evisceration has been found. Vaginal evisceration in premenopausal women has been recorded infrequently compared to postmenopausal women and it has been linked to sexual and obstetric trauma. We presented a case of a premenarchal female who came with transvaginal omental evisceration after a blunt abdominal trauma and discussed the treatment choices for this uncommon surgical emergency.
