Abstract Although students may not become augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) clinical specialists, they often will work with individuals demonstrating complex communication needs who benefit from AAC. This necessitates knowledge of some basic principles of assessment including AAC assessment as a team process involving planning and implementing interventions for current and future communication needs; the inclusion of no-tech, low-tech, and high-tech communication systems; and assessing communication needs with partners in the individual's social network. The assessment also must include a capability profile and feature matching to select the appropriate components of the AAC system. Because the system we provide for today will become the system we use tomorrow, assessment must be considered an ongoing process throughout the lifespan of the individual.

For high bit-rate optical communications system, the changes in temperature or power fluctuations are due to the dispersion of the dispersion tolerance than the system. Therefore, the dispersion compensation unit must have the functionality to adapt to the dynamic generation of tunable optical communication network development. This article describes several dynamic tunable compensation techniques and the basic principles of the performance characteristics of the situation at home and abroad, including the chirped fiber grating method, the virtual image phased array method, GT interferometer method, the array method and the planar waveguide grating method, and a brief discussion of tunable dispersion compensation technology in the future direction of development.

Practical training plays a significant role in engineering subjects. In communication engineering, most of universities provide communication test cabinets or simulation software for practical training. These can make students understand the basic principles of local modules, while cannot provide a whole view of communication systems. Our work constructs a practical training project of telecommunications experiential platform, consisting of hardware communication facilities and software operation systems, realizing multi-user operating practice. This telecommunications experiential platform can train more than 40 students simultaneously and has proved to be economic and efficient in practical teaching.

This paper mainly introduces the basic principles of BCH code, which is a type of error control codes. The error control system is an important method to improve the communication transmission system. Communication system that containing BPSK modulation is built by MATLAB and through simulating and analyzing the performance of BCH communication systems, it was discovered that the BCH code transmission characteristic has significant gain. This paper provides the theory basis for the projects that contain BCH code.
