The taxonomic treatment of the Achariaceae from Bahia state, Brazil, is presented. Two genera are recognized, with one species each: Carpotroche brasiliensis and Kuhlmanniodendron macrocarpum, this latter endemic to the state. Identification key, descriptions, taxonomic comments, illustrations and distribution maps of species in the state are presented.

The Praxelinae comprises two genera—Praxelis and Chromolaena—and 19 species in Rio Grande do Sul, the southernmost State of Brazil. This is the first taxonomic treatment of these genera in the state according to their current circumscriptions. Chromolaena squarrosoramosa is formally reported for the first time for the flora of the state. The names C. callilepis and C. paraguariensis are used for the first time to refer to species previously known as Eupatorium polyanthum and E. angusticeps. Eupatorium angusticeps, considered in previous studies endemic to Rio Grande do Sul and probably extinct, is synonymized under C. paraguariensis and has its geographical range extended. Two neglected names, C. elliptica and C. latisquamulosa, are re-established, and C. umbelliformis is synonymized under C. elliptica. Furthermore, C. rhinanthacea is recollected for the first time after 40 years, and C. gentianoides is rediscovered in the state after almost 200 years of the original collection. Identification key and morphological descriptions, as well as distribution maps, field photographs, illustrations and general comments on the biology, ecology and identification of the species are provided.

This work presents the taxonomic treatment of the genus Astraea in Bahia. The state, along with Minas Gerais, has the highest diversity of Astraea, with seven species recognized: A. digitata, A. gracilis, A. klotzschii, A. paulina, A. praetervisa, A. subcomosa and A. surinamensis. The treatment includes an identification key, descriptions, photographs and distribution maps, besides comments on geographical distribution, habitat and phenology.

The taxonomic treatment of Hirtella (Chrysobalanaceae) from Bahia State, Brazil, is presented. We recognize 14 species; H. bicornis is recorded for the first time in the state and H. prancei was originally described from this study. The treatment includes an identification key to species, descriptions and comments on taxa, as well as illustrations and geographic distribution maps of species in Bahia. An identification key to the genera of Chrysobalanaceae in the state is also provided.

ABSTRACT As part of a floristic survey of the vascular flora of Pedra do Elefante, Espírito Santo State, Brazil, a taxonomic treatment of the Anemiaceae is here presented. Fieldwork was conducted monthly from March 2015 to July 2016. Samples were collected and dried according to the usual methodology and incorporated into the VIC and VIES herbaria. In addition to VIC and VIES, we also studied the specimens form MBML herbarium. Eight species, one variety, and a new hybrid were recorded: Anemia collina, A. ×elephantensis nothosp. nov., A. ferruginea var. ferruginea, A. hirsuta, A. luetzelburgii, A. organensis, A. patens, A. phyllitidis, A. tomentosa var. tomentosa, and A. tomentosa var. anthriscifolia. Besides the new hybrid, A. tomentosa var. tomentosa is also a new record for the state. Identification key, descriptions, comments, geographical distribution and illustrations are provided for all taxa.

A taxonomic treatment of the Oleaceae from Bahia, Brazil, is present as a contribution to the knowledge of the flora of the state. Four species of the genus Chionanthus are recognized: C. crassifolius, C. filiformis, C. micranthus and C. parviflorus. The taxonomic treatment of Aristolochiaceae from the state of Bahia, Brazil, is presented here. We recognize 20 species of Aristolochia, the only genus of the family represented in Brazil. Aristolochia melastoma is reported for the first time in Bahia and A. brunneomaculata was recognized as new from this study. A taxonomic treatment of Tibouchina s.l. from Bahia, Brazil, is presented. Thirty-seven species are recognized, one of them in Pleroma (P. michelangelii). Four species are new records for Northeast Brazil (T. crassiramis, T. elegans, T. granulosa and T. sebastianopolitana), 25 are endemic to the state and nine restricted to the Chapada Diamantina. The treatment includes an identification key, descriptions, illustrations, comments, and distribution maps of the species in the state.

A floristic treatment of the Cyclanthaceae from the Bahia State, Brazil, is presented. Four native species in three genera are recognized: Asplundia gardneri, A. maximiliani, Evodianthus funifer and Thoracocarpus bissectus. Carludovica palmata, an introduced species, also occurs in the State. Identification key, descriptions and general comments on taxa as well as illustrations and distribution maps of species are presented.
