The article is devoted to the analysis of watermarking algorithms in terms of their use in marking medical images. The algorithms based on the Integer Wavelet Transform (IWT), Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT), and Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) were compared. The algorithms were implemented using the combinations: IWT, IWT-DCT, and IWT-SVD. As part of the research, the level of disturbances caused by embedding the watermark was checked using subjective and objective methods. The attack resistance of the watermarked images was tested and the steganographic capacity was measured. All algorithms are based on IWT, however, each has different advantages. The algorithm based on the IWT showed the highest capacity. The most resistant to attacks is IWT-SVD, and the lowest level of interference was obtained for the IWT-DCT algorithm.

The combination of image features with singular value decomposition algorithm and digital watermarking algorithm based on wavelet transform respectively makes possible the advancement from pixel watermarking to content watermarking, which effectively solves the contradiction between perceptibility and robustness of conventional watermarking algorithm. Therefore, stronger robustness and lower perceptibility of watermarking are achieved. This paper first gives a review on conventional singular-value-decomposition-based digital watermarking algorithm, and then makes a thorough analysis of its respective features, advantages and defects. Improved feature extraction schemes of digital watermark which combine image features with SVD algorithm as well as the application algorithm in feature extraction based on improved SVD algorithm are put forward for the comparative analysis of corresponding principles and processing effects. The experimental results indicate that the content-based (instead of pixel-based) watermarking algorithm can better satisfy the perceptibility and robustness of digital watermarking, with huge application potentials and more development space

This paper is devoted to the comparative analysis of watermarking algorithms for X-ray images. The techniques based on discrete wavelet transform (DWT), singular value decomposition (SVD) and DWT-SVD hybrid were compared. Transparency, resistance to graphical transformations, and performance were investigated. The watermarked images were visually evaluated and quality tested. SVD showed the highest resistance to attacks, and the embedded watermarked images were of better quality in the comparison to the other algorithms. The DWT technique was the fastest, but not resistant to graphical transformations. In DWT-SVD labeled images, the watermark is indistinguishable, but the resistance to attacks is low. The SVD was found to be the most suitable method for watermarking of X-ray images.
