Since news circulation increasingly takes place online, the public has gained the capacity to influence the salience of topics on the agenda, especially when it comes to social media. Considering increased scrutiny about organizations, this study aims to understand what causes heightened activity to organization-related topics among Twitter users. We explore the extent to which news value theory, news coverage, and influential actors can explain peaks in Twitter activity about organizations. Based on a dataset of 1.8 million tweets about 18 organizations, the findings show that the news values social impact, geographical closeness, facticity, as well as certain influential actors, can explain the intensity of online activities. Moreover, the results advocate for a more nuanced understanding of the relation between news media and social media users, as indications of reversed agenda-setting patterns were observed.

The development of global currents has an impact on various aspects of life, including community culture. One of them is in terms of clothing which is influenced by foreign cultures. This of course degrades ethical values ​​in the use of clothing, especially clothing used at social events or places of worship such as traditional clothing to temples. The influence of outside culture that is abused certainly causes deviations in ethical values ​​in the use of traditional clothing to the temple, one of the villages affected by the deviation is Penarungan Village. As a tourism destination, the people of Penarungan Village cannot turn a blind eye to outside culture, this causes deviations in ethical values ​​of traditional dress to the temple in Penarungan village. This research uses value theory, behaviorism, and social interaction. The approach used is ethnography. Informants were determined by purposive sampling. The research location chosen was Penarungan Village. Data collection techniques are by observation, interviews, and library techniques. The results of the study show that the forms of deviation from ethical values ​​in traditional attire to the temple in Penarungan Village include: (1) Deviations using kamen, (2) loose hair, (3) transparent and vulgar clothes, (4) T-shirts. the causes of deviations in values. Ethical factors in traditional kepura dress in Penarungan Village include (1) social media, (2) development of the times, (3) economic factors. The strategies of Hindu religious leaders in strengthening ethical values ​​in traditional attire to temples in Penungan Village (1) bring order to the people who violate them, (2) use uniform clothing.

Much of the literature on value creation in social media-based infrastructures has largely neglected the pivotal role of data and their processes. This paper tries to move beyond this limitation and discusses data-based value creation in data-intensive infrastructures, such as social media, by focusing on processes of data generation, use and reuse, and on infrastructure development activities. Building on current debates in value theory, the paper develops a multidimensional value framework to interrogate the data collected in an embedded ethnographical case study of the development of PatientsLikeMe, a social media network for patients. It asks when, and where, value is created from the data, and what kinds of value are created from them, as they move through the data infrastructure; and how infrastructure evolution relates to, and shapes, existing data-based value creation practices. The findings show that infrastructure development can have unpredictable consequences for data-based value creation, shaping shared practices in complex ways and through a web of interdependent situations. The paper argues for an understanding of infrastructural innovation that accounts for the situational interdependencies of data use and reuse. Uniquely positioned, the paper demonstrates the importance of research that looks critically into processes of data use in infrastructures to keep abreast of the social consequences of developments in big data and data analytics aimed at exploiting all kinds of digital traces for multiple purposes.

Germany was second in the number of March for Science participants. Applying news value theory, this article analyzes the newsworthiness of the 2018 March for Science in Germany, comparing journalistic (online) reporting on the march (N=86) and Twitter communication about #marchforscience (N=591). The results of the content analyses reveal that news factors were more frequent and reached higher intensities in journalistic reporting than on Twitter. Relevance, prominence, personalization, and influence were the news factors most emphasized by journalists. On Twitter, reach was the only news factor correlating with social media engagement (likes, comments, and retweets).
