Abstract A new species of Colotrema Wittmer, 1979 (Malachiidae: Malachiinae: Colotini) from Socotra Island is described and illustrated: Colotrema socotrana sp. nov. It is most similar to C. barbertonica Wittmer, 1991 from South Africa, but differs from the latter in colouration of the extremities and morphology of maxillary palpi and terminalia. This species represents the first record of Colotrema for Socotra. In addition, C. asirensis Wittmer, 1979 and C. testacea wajjensis Wittmer, 1980 are recorded from continental Yemen for the first time. A key to the species of Colotrema occurring in the Arabian Peninsula and in the Socotran Archipelago is given.

The Iberian Peninsula is part of the South European Atlantic Shelf within the Lusitanian ecoregion. Given the characteristics of this region, a great invertebrate biodiversity is expected. Nevertheless, no literature records of Polycladida are known for the Cantabrian Sea. Here, we report the presence of six polyclad species, including one new species.Notoplana vitrea, considered endemic to the Mediterranean Sea, was found in the Cantabrian Sea, demonstrating its presence in Atlantic waters. This species was previously reported for these waters on two natural history photographic websites: the importance of searching, indexing and disseminating this type of record for the scientific community is discussed.Discocelis tigrinais reported for the first time for the Cantabrian Sea, and is the northernmost record to date. In this paper,Pleioplana atomatais reported for the second time for the Iberian Peninsula, yet is the first record for the Cantabrian Sea. Although a literature record ofLeptoplana tremellarisfor the Iberian Peninsula exists, it is considered a misidentification ofL. mediterranea; therefore, this work provides the first record ofL. tremellarisfor the Iberian Peninsula. The cosmopolitan speciesCycloporus papillosusis also reported for the Cantabrian Sea. A new species,Imogine fafaisp. nov., is described and taxonomically compared with other species of the genus.

The doryctine wasp species (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) of Farasan Archipelago (Saudi Arabia) are studied here for the first time. Six species are reported, of which Mimodoryctes arabicus Edmardash, Gadallah & Soliman is described and illustrated as a new species. Neoheterospilus sp. is most probably a new species but further collecting should be done to obtain the female. Four species are new records for Saudi Arabia as well as for the whole Arabian Peninsula: Dendrosotinus ferrugineus (Marshall, 1888), Hecabalodes anthaxiae Wilkinson, 1929, Mimodoryctes proprius Belokobylskij, 2001, and Rhaconotus (Rhaconotus) carinatus Polaszek, 1994. The newly recorded species are re-described and illustrated.

During a faunistic survey on eriophyoid mites associated with weeds in Golestan province of Iran, four eriophyoid species were collected. A new species, Aculops hyperisaemum sp. nov., was found on Hypericum androsaemum L. (Hypericaceae) and herein described and illustrated. Paraphytoptus paradoxus Nalepa, 1896, Aceria lamii (Liro, 1943) and Aceria verbenacae de Lillo et al., 2017, were found respectively on Artemisia absinthium L. (Asteraceae), Lamium album L. and Salvia nemorosa L. (Lamiaceae) and are reported for the first time in Iran. Aculops hyperisaemum sp. nov. and A. lamii were vagrant on the underside of the leaves of their host plants and no symptoms were detected. Aceria lamii is redescribed using modern microscopy and terminology. Paraphytoptus paradoxus was vagrant on the leaf underside and caused discoloration of the leaves; this is the first record of Paraphytoptus from Iran. Aceria verbenacae induced erinea on leaves, petioles, stems and flowers on a new host plant species.

Leptalpheus lirai sp. nov., a new species of symbiotically living, infaunal alpheid shrimp, is described based on a single specimen from the Gulf of Santa Fe, Sucre, Venezuela. The new species belongs to an informal group of nine species within the genus Leptalpheus Williams, 1965, which is characterised by the presence of well-developed adhesive disks on the major chela. In addition, Leptalpheus axianassae Dworschak & Coelho, 1999 and Fenneralpheus chacei Felder & Manning, 1986 are recorded for the first time from Venezuela (Anzoátegui and Sucre, respectively), the latter also representing the first record of the genus Fenneralpheus Felder & Manning, 1986 for the country. These records bring to 11 the number of alpheid genera, and to four the number of species of Leptalpheus, known in Venezuelan marine waters.

Abstract A new species of Viridotheres is described from material in the collections of the Museum für Naturkunde, Berlin, representing the first record of the genus from Indonesia. The new species most closely resembles V. takedai Ahyong, Komai & Watanabe, 2012 from Japan, and, significantly, shares the well-developed G2 exopod. Males of a second species of pinnotherid crab in the Berlin collection, misidentified as Ostracotheres tridacnae (Rüppell, 1830), proved referable to Afropinnotheres dofleini (Lenz in Lenz & Strunck, 1914), from South Africa, for which only females were known in detail. The male of A. dofleini is redescribed and figured in detail for the first time. Notably, males of A. dofleini also have a gonopod 2 exopod, the first such report for the genus. Confirmation of the gonopod 2 exopod in A. dofleini and V. kupang sp. nov. highlights the increasing significance of the gonopod 2 exopod in pinnotherid systematics and morphology.

Eight species of Strongylodesma Lévi, 1969 (Demospongiae Sollas, Poecilosclerida Topsent, Latrunculiidae Topsent) are recognised today (Van Soest et al. 2019): three from South Africa (S. algoaensis and S. tsitsikammaensis Samaai et al., 2003; S. aliwaliensis Samaai et al., 2004); two from the Tropical Western Atlantic (S. nigra and S. purpurea Samaai & Kelly, 2009); and two from the Western Pacific Ocean (S. novaecaledoniae and S. tongaensis Samaai & Kelly, 2009). The type species, S. areolata Lévi, 1969, is from Vema Seamount in the South Atlantic Ocean, about 1000 km northwest of Cape Town. Prior to this work, Strongylodesma had not been recorded in the Southwest Pacific region: here we report for the first time, a new species from temperate Australia, S. australiense sp. nov.

A new species of amphipod, Bathyporeia watkini sp. nov. from the Atlantic coasts of North Africa is described. This very characteristic species is abundant in some lagoons and estuaries near 28°N. New morphological information on B. elkaimi d’Udekem d’Acoz and Menioui, 2004 is given after specimens that were recently collected on the Atlantic coasts of southern Spain and South Portugal. The male of B. ledoyeri d’Udekem d’Acoz and Menioui, 2004 is described for the first time and new records of North African B. guilliamsoniana (Bate, 1857) and B. chevreuxi d'Udekem d'Acoz and Vader, 2005a are discussed.

A new species and eight new subspecies of Papilionoidea discovered in Vietnam between 2002 and 2020 are described and illustrated. The status of two taxa are revised. New taxa include Pieridae: Delias sanaca bidoupa Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov. and Talbotia naganum aurelia Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov.; Nymphalidae: Abrota ganga pulcheria Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Bassarona recta consonensis Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Pantoporia bieti aurantina Monastyrskii & To subspec. nov.; Ragadia latifasciata cristata Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Ragadia latifasciata crystallina Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Faunis indistincta luctus Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov. & Aemona gialaica Monastyrskii, K. Saito & Vu, spec. nov. The taxon infuscata Devyatkin & Monastyrskii, previously described as the subspecies Aemona tonkinensis infuscata, was elevated to the species level, while the taxon critias (Ragadia critias Riley & Godfrey) was reduced to a subspecies. Three Satyrinae species were recorded from Vietnam for the first time: Palaeonympha opalina Butler, 1871; Ypthima motschulskyi Bremer & Grey, 1853; and Ragadia latifasciata Leech, 1891.

The genus Yalvaciana Ciplak et.al (2002) is reported for the first time from India represented by a new species. Previously the genus comprised a single species, Yalvaciana yalvaci Demirsoy, (1974). Brief information about morphology, distribution and key to species are given. The Holotype has been deposited in the Museum of Zoology Department, AMU (ZDAMU).

Tipula (Lunatipula) milkoi sp. n. is described from Kyrgyzstan. The new species belongs to the Tipula zarnigor group and is closely related to T. (L.) zarnigor Savchenko and T. (L.) lehriana Savchenko. Two tipulid species, Nephrotoma lundbecki lundbecki (Nielsen) and Tipula (Yamatotipula) pierrei Tonnoir, are recorded from Kyrgyzstan for the first time.
