Lophostoma carrikeri is a bat species widely distributed in the northern portion of South America and has been reported in a great variety of forested habitats. However, it is still poorly represented in scientific collections and wildlife surveys. In Brazil, L. carrikeri is known mainly for the Amazon basin and few localities in the Cerrado and Caatinga biomes. Here we report the first records of Lophostoma carrikeri from the states of Minas Gerais and Ceará based on specimens examined in taxonomic collections and collected during fieldwork. These new records represent the easternmost limits on the distribution of L. carrikeri and expand its known geographic range in approximately 488 km southeast and 490 km east of the nearest known records (São Domingos, state of Goiás and Teresina, state of Piauí). We also provide measurements, comments on morphological variation and an overall review of the species geographic distribution.

We provide records for Micrablepharus maximiliani from state of Minas Gerais and present a map representing its distribution. The record of M. maximiliani from municipality of Resplendor, Minas Gerais, represents a distribution extension of 1,050 km southern from the type locality at the municipality of Maruim, Sergipe. Others 57 new records are presented based on specimens housed in several Brazilian and Paraguayan herpetological collections, improving the knowledge on geographic distribution of M. maximiliani in South America.

Four new species of Canthysellus Baca & Toledo, 2015, C. kukrutkato sp. nov., C. putkarot sp. nov., C. omawe sp. nov. and C. yawari sp. nov., from the Brazilian states of Amazonas and Pará are described and illustrated. The new species can be recognized from all other members of the genus by their distinct aedeagal features; Canthysellus omawe sp. nov. and C. yawari sp. nov. differ furthermore from all other members of the genus by their distinct dorsal surface punctation and glabrous prosternal process. A geographic distribution map and a key to all known species of Canthysellus are provided. In addition, new records from Brazil are provided for C. buqueti (Laporte, 1835) from the states of Minas Gerais and Pará.

Ganoderma is a cosmopolitan genus of fungi with species distributed in temperate and tropical regions. Species of Ganoderma in living Leguminosae were observed in Park de la Salud in Pance, Cali, Colombia and we record G. multiplicatum for the first time from Colombia. A distribution map of this genus in the Neotropical region is presented.

In this study we report the first record of the giant torrent frog Megaelosia apuana in the state of Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil. The finding of this species at Reserva Particular do Patrimônio Natural (RPPN) Mata do Sossego, municipality of Simonésia, east of Minas Gerais extends its geographic distribution by 120 km from the type locality, and 45 km northwest from its westernmost known record. A geographic distribution map is presented.
