Portanus Ball, 1932 comprises 45 species that occur in Brazil, including Portanus felixi sp. nov. described and illustrated herein. The genus is close to Paraportanus Carvalho & Cavichioli, 2009 and can be distinguished from it by having a transversal groove on the basal third of the subgenital plates. The new species can be distinguished from the other species of the genus by the characters of male genitalia, especially by the pygofer with the apical process pointed, sclerotized and dorso-ventrally directed; and by the aedeagus with apodeme on the basal third.

A New Species

A new, and only the third known species of the Neotropical montane genus Oressinoma Doubleday is described—O. sorina n. sp., from the Andes of central Peru. It is distinguishable immediately from the other two congeners by the shape of the hindwing underside submarginal orange band, and by the male genitalia. The systematics of Oressinoma are reviewed. A preliminary analysis is carried out based on COI barcode confirming the separate specific status of O. sorina n. sp. in relation to other two congeners. Both barcode and genital morphology data suggest that the widespread O. typhla Doubleday may be a complex of allopatric or, locally parapatric species. The genus Oressinoma is the only neotropical member of the predominantly Australian subtribe Coenonymphina, represented in the entire Holarctic by one genus only—Coenonympha Hübner, considered as the putative sister-genus of Oressinoma. Their origins and relationships are briefly discussed.

A new species, T. yaolihuoi Huang, Jiang & Song sp. nov. of the genus Teratozephyrus Sibatani, 1946 is described from southeastern China. Among the other representatives of the genus, the new species resembles only T. hinomaru Fujioka, 1994 from southwestern China, from which the new species can be separated easily by examining details in both wing pattern and the male genitalia. Wing patterns and genitalia of the new species and T. hinomaru are illustrated and compared.

A new species (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae), <em>Acleris sagarmathae</em> sp. n., from Nepal is described. The new species was collected in Lobuche, a locality of Sagarmatha National Park. <em>A. sagarmathae</em> is closest to <em>A. formosae</em> Razowski, 1964, but differs from the other species of the genus <em>Acleris</em> in forewing markings and structures of the male genitalia. Adults and genitalia of <em>Lambertiodes harmonia</em> (Meyrick) and <em>Archips termias termias</em> (Meyrick) are also illustrated.

AbstractLyctocoris canadensis new species is described from southwestern Quebec. The other species of Lyctocoris known to occur in North America are L. campestris (Fabricius), L. doris Van Duzee, L. elongatus (Reuter), L. mexicanus Kelton, L. okanaganus Kelton & Anderson, L. rostratus Kelton & Anderson, L. stalii (Reuter), and L. tuberosus Kelton & Anderson. Species are keyed, known information on their ecology is given, and male genitalia and female abdominal segments are illustrated.

A New Species

A new species of Paramaka is described based on nymphs and male imagos from State of Mato Grosso, Brazil. The imago of Paramaka pearljam sp. n. can be easily separated from the other species of the genus by the presence of a conspicuous and large median projection with apex curved ventrally on styliger plate; and in nymph by the gills not ended in a thin apical process and tarsal claw without accessory denticles. A new key is proposed and new geographic records for the genus are reported.

A new species, Holophloeus loebli Trýzna & Baňař sp. nov. (Anthribidae: Anthribinae: Discotenini), from east Madagascar is described. Male genitalia are studied and illustrated, and color photographs are provided. A comparison is provided with the other known Madagascan species of the genus, H. tuberosus (Fairmaire, 1897). Ecological notes, including color photographs of habitats, on H. loebli and H. tuberosus are provided.

A new species of the genus Birdantis Stål, 1863 (Hemiptera: Fulgoridae), B. bhaskarai sp. nov. from Larat Island (Tanimbar), is described. Birdantis collaris (Walker, 1870) stat. rev. and B. trilineata (Schmidt, 1926) stat. rev. are reinstated as valid species, respectively from status of subspecies and as junior synonym of B. delibuta Stål, 1863. These four species, as well as the other one previously described from the Maluku Islands, B. decens Stål, 1863, are illustrated from their type specimens. An identification key, a distribution map, illustrations of habitus and details of male genitalia are provided. The synonymy between Myrilla Distant, 1888 and Birdantis is formally reinstated and all species formerly placed in the subgenus Birdantis (Myrilla) are transferred to Birdantis sensu stricto. Birdantis is transferred to the subfamily Aphaeninae Blanchard, 1847 and now contains eighteen species distributed in Maluku (five species), New Guinea and neighbouring islands (ten species) and Australia (three species).

A New Species

In this paper we describe the new subgenus Baeticoharpalus Serrano & Lencina and a new species Harpalus (Baeticoharpalus) lopezi Serrano & Lencina, based on a unique character combination that includes the pubescence of temples, frons, pronotum and elytra, the lack of mentum tooth, the shape of mouth parts and the male genitalia. The new taxon was collected in Sierra Morena (Pico de Almadén, central Betic Mountains, south Spain) and is geographically isolated from related taxa. Distribution data suggest that this is a relict species. The taxonomic position of the new taxon is discussed in relation to the other Iberian subgenera of Harpalus and the related genera Pangus, Pseudoophonus, Ophonus, etc. A key to Iberian Harpalus and related taxa is included; it illustrates the abundance of homoplasic characters within these taxa and the difficulties to develop a ‘natural’ key for identifying them.

Suphisellus shorti sp. n. is described from “Los Llanos”, Venezuela, which brings to six the number of species includedin the Noteridae genus Suphisellus Crotch, 1873 recorded in this country. Specimens were collected in The Plains regionin Venezuela (Apure and Guarico states) using either a light trap or a net. Description and illustration of the new speciesare provided along with a discussion of its systematic position. The new species can be distinguished from the other spe-cies of the genus by the following main characters: crease at posterolateral angle of pronotum weakly marked; numerous setae covering entire surface of prosternal process and medial part of prosternum; shape of male genitalia.

Four species of the soldier fly genus Nemotelus are recorded from Finland. One of them, Nemotelus (Nemotelus) infortunatus sp. nov., is described as new to science from material collected from south-eastern Finland and the adjacent Russian Republic of Karelia. The new species differs from the other North European Nemotelus species by the partially black postpronotum, darkened fore and mid tibiae and details of the male genitalia. Details of six Nemotelus occurring in North and northern Central Europe are presented for comparison and all six species are shown in colour photographs. A revised key to the North European species of Nemotelus is presented.
