As you know, functional disorders of the large intestine are common in many diseases. Practical doctors usually pay little attention to them and, in particular, to the effect of such frequently used drugs as antibiotics, sulfonamides, vitamins, and anticholinergic drugs. In this regard, we have made an attempt to find out the advisability of using some of them in the treatment of functional disorders of the intestine.

The article is devoted to one of actual problems of gastroenterology – study of microbiocenosis of gastrointestinal tract in functional disorders. Functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGID) or minimal dysfunctions of digestion are frequent in the first months of child’s life and provoke anxiety both in parents and in pediatricians. Aim: to explore the microbial landscape and the associative structure of the microbiota of the large intestine in children with functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract.Subjects and methods: Intestinal microbiota composition of 225 children with functional gastrointestinal disorders and 100 healthy children was studied using bacteriological method.Results. The 88.4 % frequency of detection of intestinal eubiosis disorders is discussed. Information is provided on the species composition of the major opportunistic organisms that inhabit this biotope. According to the results, decrease of bifidobacteria amount in structure of large intestine microbiota increases rate of detection of opportunistic micro-organisms – predominantly, Klebsiella genus bacteria and Staphylococcus aureus. The intestinal microbial community is dominated by multicomponent transient association. The frequency of detection of pathogenic Staphylococcus in children under one year is discussed in detail.Conclusions. A distinctive feature of the intestinal biocenosis microecological status is significantly greater spread of enterococci than in healthy children, which can be a risk for the emergence of strains with the presence of a number of pathogenecity factors that cause infectious processes.

The aim of the research was to determine the features of large intestinal microbiocenosis during the vegetation of bacteria of the genus Klebsiella in children with functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract in different age periods of the first year of life. The material for the study is based on 210 coprological samples isolated from infants of both sexes with functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and indication of Klebsiella spp. in the titer of 105-108 CFU/g. The children were grouped according to the age: 1st − children from 1 to 3 months old, 2nd − children from three to six months old, 3rd − children from 6 to 12 months old. All of them were divided into two groups for comparison, depending on the type of isolated Klebsiella species: K. pneumoniae (n=105) and K. oxytoca (n=105). The investigation of the intestinal microflora was performed in accordance with conventional methodology, and the assessment of the results was done according to Industry Standard. Identified bacteria were divided by their morphologic, tinctorial, cultural and biochemical properties. As a result of the study, dysbiotic disturbances of the 3rd degree were observed in children, complicated by the proliferation of bacteria of the genus Klebsiella, especially by its diagnostically important bacterial agent K. oxytoca. Most critical for the development of functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract for the children of the first year of life is the age of 3-6 months. Long-term persistence of the Klebsiella spp. in high titer (105-108 CFU/g) in the large intestine of the children with functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract dictates the need for selective decontamination of the Klebsiella from the gut microbiota.

The oral form-discrimination abilities of 18 orally educated and oriented deaf high school subjects were determined and compared to those of manually educated and oriented deaf subjects and normal-hearing subjects. The similarities and differences among the responses of the three groups were discussed and then compared to responses elicited from subjects with functional disorders of articulation. In general, the discrimination scores separated the manual deaf from the other two groups, particularly when differences in form shapes were involved in the test. The implications of the results for theories relating orosensory-discrimination abilities are discussed. It is postulated that, while a failure in oroperceptual functioning may lead to disorders of articulation, a failure to use the oral mechanism for speech activities, even in persons with normal orosensory capabilities, may result in poor performance on oroperceptual tasks.
