In the era of sustainable development, green supplier selection has become a key component of supply chain management, as it considers criteria such as carbon footprint, water usage, energy usage and recycling capacity. Since the green supplier selection problem involves subjective criteria and uncertainty in preferences, it is well suited to using multi-criteria decision-making methods (MCDM). Although few researchers have investigated MCDM for green supplier selection under uncertainty using intuitionistic and Pythagorean fuzzy sets. Still, the newly developed fermatean fuzzy can handle greater data uncertainty than intuitionistic and Pythagorean fuzzy sets. Since interval extension of fuzzy theory provides more accurate modeling, in this paper, we propose an interval extension of fermatean fuzzy set and discuss its fundamental set operations, arithmetic operations and related properties. We propose the Hamming distance function and the score function of the interval-valued fermatean fuzzy numbers. The recently developed Multi-attribute Border Approximation Area Comparison (MABAC) method is also considered due to its stable and simple computation compared to other conventional MCDM methods. Therefore, an interval-valued fermatean fuzzy MABAC method is proposed and solved to select a green supplier based on multiple criteria. The proposed method's comparative analysis and sensitivity analysis validate the proposed method's effectiveness and robustness.

Due to the increasing complexity in green supplier selection, there would be some important issues for expressing inherent uncertainty or imprecision of decision makers’ cognitive information in decision making process. As an extension of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs) and neutrosophic sets (NSs), picture fuzzy sets (PFSs) can better model and represent the hesitancy and uncertainty of decision makers’ preference information. In this study, an attempt has been made to present a multi-criteria picture fuzzy decision-making model for green supplier selection based on fractional programming. In this approach, the ratings of alternatives and weights of criteria are represented by PFSs and IFSs, respectively. Based on the available information, some pairs of fractional programming models are derived from the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to an Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and the proposed biparametric picture fuzzy distance measure to determine the relative closeness coefficient intervals of green suppliers, which are aggregated for the criteria to generate the ranking order of all green suppliers by computing their optimal degrees of membership based on the ranking method of interval numbers. Finally, an example is conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed multi-criteria decision making (MCMD) method.

Currently, an important issue in multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems are vagueness and lack of precision of decision- -making information because of insufficient data and incapability of the decision maker to process the information. Intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFS) are a solution to eliminate the vagueness and the uncertainty. While fuzzy sets (FS) deal with ambiguity and vagueness problem, IFSs have more advantages. Moreover, the CODAS-SORT method cannot handle the uncertainty and ambiguity of information provided by human judgments. The aim of this study is to develop an IF extension of CODAS-SORT combining this method with the IFS theory. To achieve this, we use the fuzzy weighted Euclidean distance and fuzzy weighted Hamming distance instead of the crisp distances. A case study of a supplier selection assessment is used to clarify the details of our proposed method. Keywords: multicriteria decision aid, sorting methods, CODAS-SORT, intuitionistic fuzzy set.
