The aim of this research was study if the effect of different Brachiaria decumbens production technologies could to improve the sustainability of livestock systems at Cumaral, Meta, Colombia. We evaluated the effects of two pastures type: Brachiaria decumbens grass (B1) and Brachiaria decumbens grass associated with kudzu Pueraria phaseloides legume (B2), four lime doses: 0 t CaCO3 ha-1 (L0), 1.1 t CaCO3 ha-1 (L1),  2.2 t CaCO3 ha-1 (L2), 3.3 t CaCO3 ha-1 (L3), and three N, P, K fertilizers sources:  Urea, triple superphosphate (TSP), potassium chloride (PCl) on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and soil chemical properties (SCP). B2*N, P, K fertilizers sources L3 and L2 showed highest number of spores of AMF and improvement of the SCP.

The use of organic fertilizers and the inoculation of mycorrhizal fungi in the cultivation of oil crops is essential to reduce production costs and minimize negative impacts on natural resources. A field experiment was conducted in an Argissolo Amarelo (Ultisol) with the aim of evaluating the effects of fertilizer application and inoculation of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on the growth attributes of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) and on soil chemical properties. The experiment was conducted at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, using a randomized block design with three replicates in a 4 × 2 factorial arrangement consisting of four treatments in regard to application of organic fertilizer (liquid biofertilizer, cow urine, mineral fertilizer, and unfertilized control) and two treatments in regard to arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (with and without mycorrhizal fungi). The results showed that the physiological attributes of relative growth rate and leaf weight ratio were positively influenced by fertilization, compared to the control treatment, likely brought about by the supply of nutrients from the fertilizers applied. The growth and productivity attributes were positively affected by mycorrhization.

Critical land is land that has lost its function as an agro-ecosystem. The main problems faced in using critical land for agriculture are: 1) acidic soil reaction, 2) high amount of Al ions that can bind phosphorus, and 3) low organic matter content. Some treatment had been tried to improve soil chemical properties, but the result obtained is not optimal. Therefore, it is necessary to do biological improvement by utilizing indigeneous Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF).  Research on the relationship between Indigeneous Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and some chemical properties of degraded land have been carried out at the Laboratory of Soil Science and Microbiology Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Andalas University ( UNAND). This study was  aimed to determine the relationship between the number and types of AMF with some chemical properties of critical land in Tanjung Alai Solok, West Sumatra, as well as to study the relationship between the number and types of AMF with some soil chemical properties using Pearson correlation analysis.  The results showed that: the number and types of AMF is closely related to pH, P, and organic C, with a pattern of positive relationships (unidirectional), while Al-dd soil showed negative correlation with the number and types of AMF.Keywords: critical land, AMF, soil chemical properties
