Different methods have been proposed for ranking fuzzy numbers. These include methods based on distances, centroid point, coefficient of variation, and weighted mean value. However, there is still no method that can always give a satisfactory result to every situation; some are counterintuitive and not discriminating. This paper presents an approach for ranking fuzzy numbers with integral value that is an extension of the index of Liou and Wang. This method, that is independent of the type of membership function used, can rank more than two fuzzy numbers simultaneously. This ranking method use an index of optimism to reflect the decision maker's optimistic attitude, but rather it also contains an index of modality that represents the neutrality of the decision maker. The approach is illustrated with numerical examples.

Method based on multi-sensor detection and data fusion technology is proposed for the temperature of real-time quantitative PCR reaction samples .The principle of Grubbs is used to eliminate the careless mistake data. Particularly, the fusion method based on weighted mean value and estimation in batches is used to process the sampled data, which gives error of indication. And then we can revise indication values.

<p>This article introduces some new straightforward and yet powerful formulas in the form of series solutions together with their residual errors for approximating the Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative operator. These formulas are derived by utilizing some of forthright computations, and by utilizing the so-called weighted mean value theorem (WMVT). Undoubtedly, such formulas will be extremely useful in establishing new approaches for several solutions of both linear and nonlinear fractionalorder differential equations. This assertion is confirmed by addressing several linear and nonlinear problems that illustrate the effectiveness and the practicability of the gained findings.</p>

In order to estimate the modern reservoir age of the seawater (R) and the corresponding local offset from the global marine radiocarbon calibration curve (δR) for coastal sites of Senegal and Mauritania, we analyzed pre-bomb mollusk shells collected between AD 1837 and 1945. In total, 27 shell samples were measured, including 19 from Senegal and 8 from Mauritania. The results for Senegal for the weighted mean of R is 511 ± 50 BP and δR is 176 ± 15 BP; for Mauritania, R is 421 ± 15 BP and δR is 71 ± 13 BP. While these values indicate a significant difference from the global mean value of R for Senegal, the R value for coastal Mauritania is close to the average ocean value R of ~400 yr (Stuiver and Braziunas 1993).

Quantification of the marine radiocarbon reservoir effect (ΔR) is essential in order to calibrate conventional 14C dates from marine shell samples with reliability. ΔR also provides information concerning the intensity of coastal upwelling in marine regions influenced by this phenomenon. 14C ages of closely associated marine samples (mollusk shells) and terrestrial samples (goat bones) from São Vicente Island, Cape Verde Archipelago, permitted the first calculation of the marine 14C reservoir effect in this region. A ΔR weighted mean value of 70 ± 70 14C yr was obtained. This value is in accordance with the previously published oceanographic conditions of the region indicating the existence of a seasonal active upwelling regime.

AbstractA survey of recent determinations of the mass of Jupiter based on analyses of the motions of minor planets is presented. The minor planets which were used in these investigations have their mean motion commensurable to Jupiter’s mean motion in the ratio 2: 1, 3:2 and 5: 2. A weighted mean value for the reciprocal mass of Jupiter of 1047.364 ±0.005 (me) is derived. Suggestions for future considerations are presented.
