Improving Students’ Vocabulary Achievement Through Word Webbing Technique

This study attempts to Improving Students’ Vocabulary achievement Trough Word Webbing Technique. The objective of the study is to discover whether the use of word webbing technique could significantly improving students’ vocabulary. This study conduct by applying Classroom Action Research which was carried out in two cycles in six meetings. The subject of this study of SMPN 4 Takengon, Aceh Tengah which consisted of 40 students. The quantitative data were collected by using observation sheet, questionnaire sheet and diary field. Based on the vocabulary test score, students’ score kept improving in every test. The mean of students’ score cycle (80) was higher than the fist cycle (67,75) and orientation test (55.25). based on observation sheet, questionnaire sheet and diary field, it was found that teaching learning process ran well. The students were more active and more enthusiastic during the teaching learning process in the second cycle than the first one. The result of the research showed that is use of word webbing technique significantly improving students’ vocabulary.

This study deals with the way to improve students’ achievement in speaking particularly through Two Stay Two Stray Strategy. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of of the research was class X-AP SMK Swasta Harapan Danau Sijabut in Asahan Regency that consisted of 34 students. The research was conducted in two cycles consisted of three meetings in each cycle. The instruments of collecting data for quantitative data used Speaking Test and instrument for analysis of qualitative data used observation, interview and questionnaire sheet. Based on the speaking test score, students’ score kept improving in every test. In the test I the mean was 61,47, in the test II the mean was 67,41 and the test III the mean was 78,52. Based on observation sheet and questionnaire sheet, it was found that teaching learning process run well and lively. Students were active and interest in speaking. The using of Two Stay Two Stray Strategy is significantly improved students’ achievement in speaking.

This study attempts to increase students’ vocabulary achievement by using flash cards. The objective of the study is to investigate whether the using of flash card can improve students’ vocabulary achievement. This study conduct by applying Classroom Action Research which was carried out in two cycles in six meetings. The subject of this study of SD Negeri 174559 Siraituruk, Porsea which consisted of 34 students. For collecting data, the instruments used were quantitative (vocabulary test) and qualitative data (interview sheet, observation sheet, and diary notes. Based on the data, it was found that the mean of the second cycle (80, 44) is higher than the mean of first cycle (64, 85) and pre-test (44, 41).  Based on interview sheet, observation sheet and diary notes, it was found thee students were more active and more enthusiastic during the teaching learning process in the second cycle than the first one. It was concluded that teaching vocabulary by using  flash cards can improve the students’ vocabulary achievement.

This study attempted to improve students’ achievement in vocabulary by using Realia. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of the research was class VII-1 at SMP.N.17 Medan which consisted of 38 students. The research was conducted in two cycles, cycle I consisted of three meetings and cycle II consisted of three meetings. The instrument for collecting quantitative data was a vocabulary test and the instruments for collecting qualitative data included diary notes, observation sheets, questionnaire sheets, and interview. Based on the vocabulary test, students’ score kept improving in every test and based on the diary notes, observation sheets, questionnaire sheets, and interview report, it was found that the teaching-learning process ran well. Students were active, enthusiastic, and interested in vocabulary. The result of the research showed that Realia significantly improved students’ achievement in vocabulary. Abstract This study attempts to improve students’ achievement in writing descriptive paragraphs through the application of Team Pair Solo. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of the research was class X/A SMA Nurul Ilmi Padangsidempuan that consisted of 32 students. The research was conducted in two cycles and the first cycle consisted of four meetings and the second cycle consisted of two meetings. The instruments of collecting data were quantitative data (Writing Test) and Qualitative data (observation sheet, interview and questionnaire sheet). Based on the writing test score, students’ score kept improving in every test. In the test I the mean was 66,4375, in the test II the mean was 78,125 and the test III the mean was 87,5625. Based on observation sheet and questionnaire sheet, it was found that teaching learning process ran well. Students were active and interest in writing. This study concerns with improving students vocabulary achievement in reading recount text through anagram technique. The objective was to investigate improvement of students’ achievement in vocabulary by applying anagram technique. This research was conducted by using action research method. The subject of the study was grade VIII students of SMP SWASTA PEMBANGUNAN GALANG totalling to 29 students. They were taught vocabulary by anagram technique. The instruments for collecting data were quantitative data and qualitative data (observation sheet and questionnaire sheet). Based on the test score of quantitative data, students’ score kept improving in every evaluation. In the orientation test the mean was 43, 2, in the cycle I test the mean was 55, 6. In the cycle II test the mean was 67.2. The percentage of orientation test was 10, 34%, cycle I test was 24, 13% and cycle II test was 86, 20%. The finding of the research showed that applying anagram technique significantly improved students’ vocabulary achievement. The qualitative data show that the students were more interested and motivated on vocabulary achievement through anagram. It is suggested that teachers should apply anagram technique as one of methods to improve students’ achievement in vocabulary.

This study attempts to Improving Students’ Achievement Through the Process GenreApproach. The objective of the study is to discover whether the use of the ProcessGenre approach could significantly improve students’ writing achievement. This studyconduct by applying Classroom Action Research which was carried out in two cycles inten meetings. The subject of this study of SMA Panca Budi Medan which consisted of39 students of class X – 2 reguler.. Orientation test was done in the first meeting, test IIwas done in the fourth meeting, and test III was done in the last meeting. The mean ofstudents’ score test III (76,242) was higher than the test II (66,878) and test I (57,606).Besides, the qualitative data was taken from observation sheet, interview, questionnaire,and diary notes. It was found that teaching learning process ran well. By applying theProcess Genre Approach in the classroom, the students understood the content ofdescriptive text easily. They also were active and enthusiastic during the teachinglearning process. The result of the research showed that the application of the ProcessGenre approach significantly improved students’ achievement in writing descriptive text

The instrument for collecting quantitative data was a writing test and the instrument for collecting quantitative data included diary notes, observation sheets, interview and questionnaire sheets. This study aims to improve students’ achievement in writing descriptive text through Group Investigation technique. This study was conducted by using classroom action research that has two cycles within. The first cycle was conducted in four meetings and the second cycle was conducted in two meetings. The subject of the research was the students of grade VIII at Yayasan Pendidikan El Hidayah Madrasah Tsanawiyah Desa Lalang Sunggal which consisted of 28 students. The instruments of collecting data were quantitative (writing test) and qualitative data (observation sheet, questionnaire sheet, and diary notes). Based on the writing test scores, students’ score kept improving in every test. In the orientation test the mean score was 59.42, in the first cycle, the mean score of the competence score was improved to be 68.17, in the second cycle; the mean of the competence score was also improved to be 76.85. Based on the observation sheet, questionnaire sheet, and diary notes, it was found that teaching-learning process ran well. Students were active, enthusiastic, and interested in writing. The result of the research showed that Group Investigation Technique could improve students’ achievement in writing descriptive text.

ABSTRACT This study deals with improvement students’ achievement in reading comprehension through Think Pair Share Technique (TPS). This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of the research was class X-B SMA Parulian 2 Medan which consists of 38 students. The research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consists of three meetings. The instrument for collecting data were quantitative data (reading comprehension test) and qualitative data (diary notes, observation sheets, and interview sheet). Based on reading comprehension score, students’ score kept improving in every test. In orientation test the mean score was 62.50, in cycle I the mean of writing score was 70.52, in cycle II the mean of reading comprehension score was 80.13. Based on diary notes, observation sheets and interview sheet, it was found that teaching learning process ran well. Students were active and interested in reading comprehension. The result of the research showed that Think Pair Share Technique (TPS) can improve students’ achievement in reading comprehension. Key Words: Reading Comprehension, Think Pair Share Technique(TPS)
