Teaching speaking to Indonesian EFL young learners is still problematic. It happens not only because English is not used in daily activities but also the government’s regulation to some extent does not support that. This qualitative study aims to describe the problems faced by EFL students in the learning of English speaking with teachers’ perspectives. The samples of this research were three teachers from three different elementary schools in Jepara, Central Java, Indonesia. The data were collected by using questionnaire, interview, and classroom observation. The data were then analyzed by 1) memoing or transcribing the interview data, reading them to make notes and finding the most important information that might be useful for the study, 2) describing the data to find complete explanation of context, setting, and interactions of participants, 3) classifying data—to break down the obtained result and put it into categories, and 4) interpreting the data to find the meanings of the data by connecting the findings with previous studies, personal experience, and expert advice to find the best result. The result showed that EFL students’ problems in the learning of English speaking came from some factors. They are 1) Native language, 2) Age, 3) Exposure, and 4) Motivation, and 5) Learners’ Autonomy. Keywords: speaking, Indonesian EFL students, young learners

Abstract This article is about designing and building a single-axis solar tracking system referring to the sun position database. The objectives are as follows: 1. to design and build a solar tracking system, and, 2. to compare the power produced from the solar tracking system with that from the stationary solar panel. The angle of the solar panel from the solar tracking system is positioned at a constant altitude angle, 15 degrees, facing south, and the moving part was the azimuth, which follows the position of the sun. Latitude and longitude coordinates are identified by an Arduino UNO R3 microcontroller board for processing data, reading coordinates of the sun’s angle degrees from the SD card module, and commanding the servo motor to rotate to adjust the angle of the solar panel in a position perpendicular to the sun. Results from the experiment were collected in October 2020 from 9 AM to 4 PM. The system changed the angle degree every 30 minutes. It is found that the solar tracking system can easily be created and controlled, and can also accurately follow the sun’s position all day long. Moreover, it can generate more electric power than that generated by the stationary solar panel by up to 15%. The system is applicable and can generate more electric power than other tracking systems, although the results were collected during the rainy season when the weather was generally cloudy and rainy throughout the month.

Abstract Background Based on prior studies spectral CT has shown a higher sensitivity for malignant lesions than conventional CT at the cost of lower specificity. For the radiologists, it also offers a higher degree of certainty in the diagnosis of benign lesions. The objective of this study was to evaluate the economic impact of spectral CT in patients suspected of occult cancer in a medical center in Denmark. Methods This study was a secondary analysis using de-identified data from a prospective study of patients receiving a contrast-enhanced spectral CT scan. Based on suggested follow-up examinations on both spectral CT and contrast-enhanced CT, costs from a payer’s perspective were determined using unit costs obtained from national databases. Results The dataset contained 400 patients. Overall, 203 follow-up procedures were eliminated based on spectral data reading. The largest reduction in suggested follow-up procedures was found for the kidney (83%), followed by the liver (66%), adrenal glands (60%), and pancreas (42%). The total estimated costs for suggested follow-up procedures based on spectral data reading were €155,219, 25.2% (€52,384) less than that of conventional CT reading. Conclusion Our results provide support for spectral body imaging as an advanced imaging modality for suspected occult cancer. A substantial number of follow-up diagnostic procedures could be eliminated based on spectral data reading, which would result in significant cost savings.

Fast in situ switching of magnetic vortex core in a ferromagnetic nanodisk assisted by a nanocavity, with diameter comparable to the dimension of a vortex core, is systematically investigated by changing the strength as well as the diameter of the effective circular region of the applied magnetic field. By applying a local magnetic field within a small area at the nanodisk center, fast switching time of about 35 ps is achieved with relatively low field strength (70 mT) which is beneficial for fast data reading and writing. The reason for this phenomenon is that the magnetic spins around the nanocavity is aligned along the cavity wall due to the shape anisotropy when the perpendicular field is applied, which deepens the dip around the vortex core, and thus facilitates the vortex core switching.

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Modern Islamic Islamic Boarding School Assalaam Surakarta continued to carry out face-to-face learning and pesantren activities. Assalaam Islamic Boarding School remains active in fostering discipline character strengthening through various kinds of activities. This study describes the implementation, obstacles, and efforts to strengthen discipline character education in boarding school-based lower secondary schools at the Assalaam Islamic Modern Islamic Boarding School Surakarta during the covid-19 Pandemic. This type of research is phenomenological research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The collection technique used is by interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out by compiling and preparing the data, reading the entire data, coding the data, applying the coding process to describe settings and themes, connecting each theme/description, and interpreting the theme/description. The results showed that character strengthening was carried out with strategies and policies, namely making rules or basic rules for students specifically for the COVID-19 Pandemic. Barriers come from factors of santri, mursyid, parents, and the background or environment around students. To overcome these obstacles, PPMI Assalaam formed a task force and abolished visiting hours for the guardians of students.

There is tremendous demand for marine environmental observation, which requires the development of a multi-agent cooperative observation algorithm to guide Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to observe isotherm data of the mesoscale vortex. The task include two steps: firstly, USVs search out the isotherm, navigate independently along the isotherm, and collect marine data; secondly, a UAV takes off, and in its one round trip, the UAV and USVs jointly perform the task of the UAV reading the observation data from USVs. In this paper, aiming at the first problem of the USV following the isotherm in an unknown environment, a data-driven Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG) control algorithm is designed that allows USVs to navigate independently along isotherms in unknown environments. In addition, a hybrid cooperative control algorithm based on a multi-agent DDPG is adopted to solve the second problem, which enables USVs and a UAV to complete data reading tasks with the shortest flight distance of the UAV. The experimental simulation results show that the trained system can complete this tas, with good stability and accuracy.

Abstract Robust, sensitive, and specific diagnostic platforms for early pathogen detection are essential for the identification of infected patients and management of current and future pandemics. CRISPR-Cas systems have been repurposed for SARS-CoV-2 detection in two-pot assays. Two-pot assays require extra steps and are prone to cross-contamination; however, the temperature range of current Cas enzymes limits the development of one-pot assays Here, we characterized TccCas13a, a thermophilic Cas13a enzyme with cis and trans activities from 37–70°C, and HheCas13a, which had a limited range and lower activity. We harnessed TccCas13a in a one-pot SARS-CoV-2 assay with two layers of amplification and TccCas13a-mediated collateral degradation of a single-stranded RNA reporter. This assay showed 95% sensitivity and 100% specificity compared with RT-qPCR on clinical samples. We also developed a mobile phone application to facilitate data reading, collection, and sharing. Our OPTIMA-dx detection module exhibits key features for point-of-care SARS-CoV-2 screening and pathogen detection in general.

<p>The operation of maintenance in the railway industry is high priorities for safety which reflects the train services. The Kelana Jaya Line (KJL) is the leading urban metro train operator among light rail transit (LRT) categories in Malaysia. The main issue in KJL, they are facing huge historical data from the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) logger when organizing the corrective maintenance work schedule. The previous conventional method leads to time constraint which causes redundancy of data reading. Hence, SCADA Dashboard was developed as a tool to structure their work prioritization for weekly planning. It was developed by using Microsoft Power Query and Power Pivot, in the advanced Excel software. The dashboard evaluation was performed based on usability and user experience studies. The evaluation test proves that the dashboard can be used effectively and it’s beneficial to the organizations as well as a contribution towards systematic maintenance.</p>
