Herein, a new species of the hypoaspidine mite genus Gaeolaelaps, G. mirzakhaniae n. sp., is described on the basis of adult female and male specimens collected in soil and litter of citrus orchards in Kerman Province, southeastern Iran. Also, supplementary information for G. queenslandicus (Womersley) is presented. Moreover, Gaeolaelaps schusteri (Hirschmann) is reported for the first time from Iran on the basis of specimens collected in Mangrove forests of Qeshm in the Persian Gulf.

A new species of the laelapid mite genus Gaeolaelaps Evans & Till, G. tuberculatus sp. nov., is described from female specimens collected in soil and rotten leaves under citrus trees in Mazandaran province, northern Iran. Supplementary information on G. deinos (Zeman) is presented. Gaeolaelaps schusteri (Hirschmann) is redescribed based on the type specimens as well as additional specimens collected from the littoral zone of mangrove forests in Qeshm Island, in the eastern part of the Persian Gulf, southern Iran.

Two species of Sphaeroma (Sphaeromatidae: Isopoda) from the Iranian coasts of the Persian Gulf were studied and described. Sphaeroma khalijfarsi sp. nov. is described from the intertidal zone of the Strait of Hormuz. This species is distinguished by the smooth pereonites; pleon without prominent tubercles and bearing some scattered small tubercles; pleotelson with numerous scattered small tubercles and well upturned posterior margins. Sphaeroma walkeri Stebbing, 1905 is reported from Kish and Qeshm Islands and from the southern coasts of Iran. Among the non-Indian Ocean species, Sphaeroma intermedium Baker, 1926 is transferred to genus Lekanesphera Verhoeff, 1943.

Polychaetes of 31 species from 17 families (Amphinomidae, Chrysopetalidae, Eunicidae, Glyceridae, Hesionidae, Iphionidae, Lumbrineridae, Maldanidae, Nereididae, Oenonidae, Phyllodocidae, Polynoidae, Sabellidae, Serpulidae, Syllidae, Terebellidae, Trichobranchidae) were studied from five locations around Abu Musa Island, the Persian Gulf.Perinereis iranicasp. nov. is described as a new species for the Persian Gulf.Perinereis iranicasp. nov. is most similar to members of thePerinereis cultriferaspecies complex, which are also found in the Persian Gulf, but can be most easily distinguished from them by the number, shape and arrangement of paragnaths in Areas V and VI.Perinereis camiguanais compared to members of the genus Pseudonereis, and found to resemble them closely, but until type specimens can be re-examined, we recommend treating this species asNereidinae incertae sedis.Fifteen species, belonging to 13 genera:Eunice‘sp_Abu Musa’,Marphysa‘sp_Abu Musa’,Glyceracf.tesselata,Hesione splendida,Lumbrineris‘sp_Abu Musa’,Notoproctus‘sp_Abu Musa’,Nereissp. cf.N. pelagica,Eteone‘sp_Abu Musa’,Harmothoe liaoi,Potamilla‘sp_Abu Musa’,Branchiosylliscf.exilis,Trypanosyllis‘sp. 1_Abu Musa’,Trypanosyllis‘sp. 2_Abu Musa’,Terebella‘sp_Abu Musa’,Terebellidescf.stroemiare reported for the first time from the Persian Gulf; nine species remain to be named formally. Three genera:Notoproctus,Eteone,Terebellaare recorded for the first time from the Persian Gulf.

Adamystis persiangulfensis sp. nov. is described based on female, male, tritonymph, deutonymph and larva stages collected in the littoral zone of mangrove forests in Qeshm Island, in the eastern part of the Persian Gulf, southern Iran. This new species is distinguished by having two pairs of adoral setae; chelicera with one seta; palpal tarsus with 14 setae; idiosoma with one poorly defined (weakly sclerotized) shield; dorsum laterally at least with 19 pairs of lens-like structures and five pairs of aggenital setae (ag1–5). Additionally, an identification key to known species of Adamystis is updated.

The genus Agrisius Walker (1855) is reported for the first time in Cambodia, for the new species Agrisius nigripunctata sp. n. Additionally, Agrisius fuliginosus is reported for the first time in Laos, Myanmar, China, Thailand and Vietnam. Illustrations of the adult and genitalia of Agrisius nigripunctata sp. n. and A. fuliginosus Moore are presented.

The E. ovina group of species is proposed here to include Edessa ovina Dallas, 1851 from Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia, Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina (new records) and Guyana; E. impura Bergroth, 1891 from Brazil and Argentina (new record); E. sahlbergii Stål, 1872 restricted to Brazil; and E. graziae sp. nov. from Brazil and Argentina. The E. ovina group can be identified by the apex of the second pair of wings narrowing distally and by a tumid area on the ventral surface of the pygophore (male genitalia) projected posteriorly. Descriptions, measurements, and illustrations of the metasternal process, external and internal genitalia of male and female are provided. A map with the distribution of the species is presented. The holotype of Edessa ovina is designated here. Edessa argali Breddin, 1903 is considered a junior synonym of E. impura. Females of E. ovina and E. impura, and male of E. sahlbergii are described for the first time.

The new species, Bulbophyllum manhdatii (B. sect. Brachyantha) discovered in Da Lat Plateau, Lam Dong Province (southern Vietnam) is described here. This new species is close to B. pumilio but clearly differs in densely crowded pseudobulbs and their shape, shorter inflorescence, lateral sepals forming a narrow acute tube slightly flattened at the base, lip without median keel, and longer stelidia. In addition, a new national record, B. seidenfadenii, from the same section is also reported from the first time from North Vietnam.

The otocepheid oribatid mite genus Leptotocepheus Balogh, 1961 is recorded in the Australasian region for the first time. The taxonomic status of the genera Leptotocepheus Balogh, 1961 and Longocepheus Balogh & Mahunka,1966 is discussed, resulting in the recognition of Longocepheus as a subgenus (stat. nov.) of Leptotocepheus and the following recombinations: Leptotocepheus (Longocepheus) australis (Balogh & Mahunka, 1966) comb. nov., Leptotocepheus (Longocepheus) globosus (Grobler, 1995) comb. nov., Leptotocepheus (Longocepheus) longus (Balogh, 1961) comb. nov., Leptotocepheus (Longocepheus) youngai (Mahunka, 1984) comb. nov. A new species of Leptotocepheus (Longocepheus) is described from New Zealand, Leptotocepheus (Longocepheus) neozealandicus sp. nov., which differs from other species of the subgenus by the presence of short, slightly developed prodorsal costulae. Revised generic and subgeneric diagnoses, an identification key and distributions for the known taxa of Leptotocepheus are presented.
