A New Species

The subgenus Antennoseius (Vitzthumia) Thor, 1930 is recorded from China for the first time by description of a new species, Antennoseius (Vitzthumia) heterochaetus Long and Yi n. sp. that was collected from leaf litter of subtropical forest in Sichuan Province, China. The new species can be distinguished from other members of the subgenus by podonotal shield with four pairs of spur-like setae (j2–j4, z2), j1 short and barbed distally, setae av1 on trochanters III and IV slightly swollen with fine distal tip. The holotype of Antennoseius ningxiaensis Bai and Ma, 2006 was examined and because the leg I avoid pretarsus and claws and also tibia III bear eight setae, the species distinguished as a member of the subgenus Antennoseius (Antennoseius). A key to Chinese species of the genus Antennoseius is given.

The oribatid mite subgenus Scheloribates (Topobates) Grandjean, 1958, is recorded from the Neotropical region for the first time. A new species of this subgenus is described from the leaf litter collected in Cayo Agua Island, Panama. Scheloribates (Topobates) panamaensis sp. nov. differs from its related species by the very large body size and presence of a strong ventrodistal process on the leg femora II–IV.

A New Species

A review of species of the genus Blera Billberg, 1820 known from China is given. A new species, Blera longiseta sp. nov., is described. Three species, B. japonica (Shiraki, 1930), B. nitens (Stackelberg, 1923) and B. violovitshi Mutin, 1991, are recorded for the first time from China. An illustrated key to species is provided.

Two braconid genera from the subfamily Alysiinae, Lodbrokia Hedqvist, 1962 and Asyntactus Marshall, 1898, are recorded in the fauna of Russia and in the Asian continent for the first time. A new species Lodbrokia uralica sp. nov. is described from the Urals, and a key to species of this genus is provided. Redescriptions of the female and male of Asyntactus rhogaleus Marshall, 1898 with information about the level of variability of its morphological characters are given. Asyntactus sigalphoides Marshall, 1898 is synonymised with A. rhogaleus Marshall, 1898 (syn. nov.).

The genus Systenus Loew, 1857 is recorded from Afrotropical Region for the first time. A description of a new species, Systenus africanus Grichanov sp. nov., and notes on females of another probably new Afrotropical species are provided. The genus is considered now as cosmopolitan. A key to species and species groups of the Systenus worldwide is compiled.

The genus Yalvaciana Ciplak et.al (2002) is reported for the first time from India represented by a new species. Previously the genus comprised a single species, Yalvaciana yalvaci Demirsoy, (1974). Brief information about morphology, distribution and key to species are given. The Holotype has been deposited in the Museum of Zoology Department, AMU (ZDAMU).

The genus Xenovarta Viraktamath is recorded from India for the first time and Xenovarta viraktamathi sp. nov. from India is described and illustrated. Materials are deposited in the National Pusa Collection, Division of Entomology, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, India. Spathipheromyia Bigot is a small group of predaceous muscids endemic of the Neotropical region. Currently, the genus includes 14 species of which only Spathipheromyia atra Malloch, 1934, S. magellani Malloch, 1934 and S. guttipennis (Thomson, 1869) are listed for Argentina. We present a new species Spathipheromyia goliat sp. nov. for Argentina and registered S. albiceps Malloch, 1934 for the first time for Argentina. Also we present a more detailed description of male and female terminalia of S. albiceps, S. atra, and S. guttipennis, notes on their habitat, new records, a key to species, and a discussion on structure of male terminalia.
