The aim of the work was to study the clinical effectiveness of the combined treatment of keratitis and keratoconjunctivitis of bacterial etiology with the combined use of ocomistin eye drops and oftocipro ointment. These drugs were used in complex therapy in 12 patients in the treatment of this ophthalmopathology, which was caused corneal microtrauma after ingestion of foreign bodies or wearing contact lenses. At the same time, in most cases, microflora in the form of staphylococci was detected. Observations of the effectiveness of such a combined treatment for infectious and bacterial lesions of the eye anterior segment showed good tolerability and high (in 11 patients, in 91.7% of cases) clinical effectiveness of this therapy. Key words: bacterial keratitis and keratoconjunctivitis, treatment, antiseptic-okomistin, antibiotic-ciprofloxacin ointment.

The purposes of insertion and types of foreign bodies in rectum show great variation. Rectal foreign bodies need to be removed without giving damage to intestinal wall and this should be done in the easiest possible way. We have reported a new and a simple technique. It is easy to apply and safe. A patient was admitted to our clinic with a rectal foreign body (radish) which was successfully removed by cutting it into small pieces. We conclude that different kinds of rectal foreign bodies, especially fruit and vegetables, can be removed by this technique.

Nasal foreign bodies are a common problem in children. Various techniques have been described for removing the offending articles. Positive pressure techniques have long been described, and have many potential advantages, but are not yet in widespread use. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy, safety and acceptability of a technique of mouth-to-mouth blowing. Of 19 children with intranasal foreign bodies, the technique was successful in 15 (79 per cent). The procedure caused little or no distress to the child, and no complications were encountered. All parents found the technique acceptable. This technique for nasal foreign body removal is, as far as we are aware, the first to be subjected to any prospective evaluation of effectiveness. We suggest that it should be used as the first line management for removing nasal foreign bodies in young children.
