Abstract Automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) play an important role in the small-scale industry as well as the largescale industry in handling materials inside factories from one place to another. In the last days, the materials to be handled are more numerous and as production and demand increase, it strongly influences the transport of materials in desperate need of a vehicle to distribute, position the materials within the industry. AGVs are generally installed with wires at ground level and signals are transmitted through them to be controlled. Due to the emergence of the AGV, the workload of the human being gradually decreased and the production efficiency increased. Thus, the need for an AGV has become more technologically important in the advanced robotic world. Normally, these systems are integrated into a global production system, where is a need to make direct changes in the design and planning of the floor store to get most of them. But in the rapidly changing production system and the adaptable floor store, the implementation of AGV has become very important and difficult, because it depends on many systems, such as wires, frequency, total production, etc. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an independent AGV, which can operate on its own and make decisions based on changes in the environment.

SUMMARYThe objective of the present study was to determine the optimal culling strategy in relation to biological and economic efficiency (BE and EE, respectively) and annualized net revenue (AN) in the Japanese Black cow–calf production system with special reference to the beef quality of culled cows. The herd model focused on two ways of mating: one-mating trial system (ONE) and continuous-mating trial system (CON). ONE assumed that heifers that fail to conceive are culled and cows that fail to conceive are culled at weaning of their calves, while CON assumed that mating continues until all females theoretically conceive. Least square means of carcass data of Japanese Black cows collected from a cooperative farm in Japan were used to estimate the carcass price of a cow by parity and Beef Marbling Standard (BMS) number. The simulation, assuming the current production situation in Japan, indicated that sales of culled cows accounted for 0·10–0·20 of total sales and was an important element in total production. Comparisons between ONE and CON showed that production efficiency in the current situation is higher in CON. The BE, EE and AN were higher in CON than in ONE. The two economic indicators were less sensitive to changes in annual discount rate but highly sensitive to changes in female calf price and BMS number of cows, indicating the importance of considering fluctuations in calf price and potential quality of culled cows’ carcasses when estimating the economically optimal parity of culling. The three indicators derived different optimal solutions even in the same mating trial systems, stressing the importance of choice of production indicators when determining the culling strategy and evaluating animal production.

The purposes of this study are to analyze the business performance and the ability of the tofu industry to become economic base, analyze the factors that affect the performance, and formulate strategies for the development of tofu small scale industry. The data of this study was collected through field survey, in-depth interviews with related experts, questionnaire technique and study documents. The data was analyized using the business feasibility, Hayami added value, regression, LQ, IFE and EFE, and SWOT. The business feasibility analysis of the tofu small scale industry has met all requirements. The production inputs and labour are significantly influence for the performance of tofu small scale industry. The tofu small scale industry becomes an economic base commodity in Adiwerna, Pangkah, and Tarub Subdistricts. Strategies on the development of tofu small scale industry in Tegal District among others are improving: the image of tofu to the higher level of consumer by packaging and brand design, the regional branding, the market penetration of the supply chain and control of soybean prices, and using alternative tofu raw material, optimizing the economic value of waste. Keywords: Development strategy, process food industry, Tegal District, small scale industry ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis kinerja usaha dan kemampuan industri kecil tahu menjadi basis ekonomi, menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja dan merumuskan strategi pengembangan industri kecil tahu.

The proposed project is to design a commercial Programming Logic Controller based automation unit with SCADA and HMI for Demineralization Unit. In Demineralization, the raw water obtained from underground and Lake is treated to meet standard as per usage. Some of the closely monitored are pH, turbidity, etc. The automation tool designed uses DELTA PLC which is interfaced to local HMI which is in-turn connected to Wi–Fi using TP– Link thus supporting Remote Monitoring and Control. For centralized control unit SCADA is used by interfacing PLC with Computer. To match the communication protocol between PLC and SCADA, OPC software called KEPServer is used. Significant improvement in quantity and quality of demineralized water can be achieved. The proposed design is cost effective as it suit for small scale industry

This study has taken position for developing of small-scale industry (SSI) is necessary strategy or market conduct policy and market performance. For that objective, the realization steps needed are: (a) re-examining about national development objective; (b) conducting political system restructurization that enable all people has equal right to participate in the economic sectors; (c) allocating and distributing economic resources and production facilities in equitable manner especially for rural people; and also (d) making more deep market penetration for goods and services of SSI through issuing inceptives and positive discrimination policies for SSI in supplying their production input, production process and marketing. Promotion intensification and nourishing cooperation with another kind of enterprise will be a beneficial.
