The QCD factorization expression has been revisited to the sum of two spin-dependent structure functions ĝ1 and ĝ2 for e++e-→B+X. We find that there exist some spurious quark-mass contributions in an expression derived earlier by Lu, Li and Hu. Their removal guarantees that the measurements of ĝ1 and ĝ2 indeed construct a determination of twist-three transverse spin-dependent fragmentation function, ĝT, in the case of inclusive Λ production in electron–positron annihilation.

We present recent measurements of τ decays into final states with kaons, which are based on several hundred million τ+τ- pairs produced in electron-positron annihilation data collected with the BABAR detector. These measurements can be used to determine the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element |Vus| with a tiny systematic error and in two different methods affected by different systematic effects.

AbstractEvent shapes are classical tools for the determination of the strong coupling and for the study of hadronization effects in electron-positron annihilation. In the context of analytical studies, hadronization corrections take the form of power-suppressed contributions to the cross section, which can be extracted from the perturbative ambiguity of Borel-resummed distributions. We propose a simplified version of the well-established method of Dressed Gluon Exponentiation (DGE), which we call Eikonal DGE (EDGE), which determines all dominant power corrections to event shapes by means of strikingly elementary calculations. We believe our method can be generalized to hadronic event shapes and jet shapes of relevance for LHC physics.
