Here we present new records of two rare tiger beetles in Croatia, their distribution and habitat selection. Cylindera trisignata trisignata (Dejean, 1822) was recorded in Croatia, for the first time in 115 years, on Mljet Island in Blace Bay. Specimens were collected on a sandy beach, 5 - 6 m from the water’s edge sea coast. Cylindera arenaria viennensis (Schrank, 1781) was found in Croatia, for the first time in 67 years, in Podravina, in Kloštar Podravski. It was collected in an area previously exploited for sand mining, which was later abandoned and left to the natural succession. Both species were recorded in rare natural or semi-natural sandy habitat types that are endangered in Croatia. The survival of these and other psammophilous species depends on the suitable management and protection of sandy habitats.

The knowledge about tiger beetle fauna of the Northern Mindanao region (Philippines) is summarized based on literature data and new records. Thirty species classified in ten genera (Tricondyla, Neocollyris, Protocollyris, Therates, Prothyma, Heptodonta, Thopeutica, Lophyra, Calomera, and Cylindera) were documented from the area (56% of tiger beetle fauna of Mindanao and 21% of Philippine species). Twelve species were noted from Northern Mindanao region for the first time, including five taxa, Neocollyris speciosa, Calomera angulata, Cylindera minuta, Lophyra striolata tenuiscripta, and Thopeutica virginea, not recorded from Mindanao before. Distribution maps for all recorded species and the first photographs of habitats for some species in Mindanao and/or in the Philippines are provided. Eight species (27% of recorded fauna) were noted from riverine habitats while 18 tiger beetles (60%) were typical forest taxa; in the case of four species, their habitats in Northern Mindanao region are not known.

The present paper deals with several new faunistic data and remarks on the taxonomy and nomenclature of the New Zealand endemic genus Neocicindela Rivalier, 1963, based on examination of type specimens of several taxa. N. novaseelandica (W. Horn, 1892) comb. nov. is restored as an independent species closely related to but well separated from N. helmsi (Sharp, 1886). Field photographs, as well as those of type specimens and some of their characters are given.

The floristic exploration and critical examination of specimens collected of family Convolvulaceae from Upper Gangetic Plains of India, resulted in addition of 2 new records for the flora viz. Ipomoea littoralis and Ipomoea capitellata var. multilobata. Detailed description, phenology, ecology, distribution, locality, field number, type specimens examined, illustrations and other relevant notes are provided.
