Restoring a partially edentulous jaw with implant-supported prosthesis is a challenge. The clinical outcome will be satisfactory only when both the surgical phase as well as the prosthetic phase are planned in advance and executed while keeping in mind the aesthetic and functional necessities. In this case report we describe the steps in successfully restoring the edentulous space with implant supported FP1 prosthesis. The sequential steps that were followed in the prosthetic phase has been described in detail. From the satisfactory outcome of the case, it can be concluded that proper evaluation, prosthetically driven treatment planning and correct execution of the plan would ensure good predictability of the implant-supported prosthesis.

This clinical report demonstrates the treatment of a healthy adult patient referred for prosthodontic treatment after orthodontic treatment with a resin-bonded inlay-retained cantilever fixed dental prosthesis (IRCFDP). The purpose of this report was to demonstrate the esthetic, functional, and conservative properties of a resin-bonded IRCFDP fabricated from monolithic zirconia which can be placed in posterior area in certain situations. Acceptable esthetics with a conservative and functional result were achieved by using a resin-bonded inlay-retained cantilever fixed dental prosthesis (IRCFDP). All laboratory and clinical procedures of this case report are described.

The Aesthetic

A case report is presented in order to illustrate the benefits of computerized video imaging in orthognathic surgery. It is suggested that superimposition of the cephalogram on the video image is helpful in treatment planning and in communication with the patient. Computerized video imaging techniques help clinicians and patients discuss the aesthetic impact of orthognathic surgery. The superimposition of the cephalogram and profile image, coupled with algorithmic predictions, allow the clinician to plan the surgery to closely match the desired result. This paper presents the planning and counselling of a patient using contemporary computerized video imaging techniques.

Objective. For obtaining the perfect balance of a removable complete denture, we have a few clinical procedures to complete, but only the analysis of the occlusal load distribution at various vertical dimensions of occlusion can give us the precise data. Method. The patient selected for this case report was a 35 years old edentulous female who requested prosthetic treatment with complete removable dentures. We followed the usual clinical steps of obtaining an acrylic denture, as well as the T-Scan III analysis during the jaw registration, in different conditions: with the occlusal wax rims, and with the trial denture in the next step, registering three different occlusal vertical dimension – understated, overstated and ideal height. Using these dimensions, we realized four mock-ups, two at the proper vertical dimensions, with various types of tooth color and shape. We analyzed the mock-ups using the T-scan III system. After the dental prosthesis was manufactured, we made another measurement with the T-scan III system. Results. After analyzing all the data from the T-scan III system, we distinguished that the most suitable solution for the patient was the proper dimension mock-up with D2 shade. Conclusions. Although the registered situations were satisfactory, the aesthetic issues are essential, and the functional aspects are fundamental, the most suitable solution in this case, was the mock-up with proper dimensions.

ABSTRACT Connectors are the components of fixed dental prosthesis that join the individual retainers and pontics together. Connectors may be rigid or nonrigid. Loop connector is a type of rigid connector, indicated primarily when an existing diastema is to be maintained in a planned fixed prosthesis. Such cases can be treated with an implant supported prosthesis or a fixed prosthesis using a loop connector. In case of loop connector, the connector is in the form of a loop on the lingual aspect of the prosthesis that connects the adjacent retainer and pontic. Similarly, loop connector can also be used in the mandibular anterior region for replacement of central incisors, using canines as abutments rather than mandibular laterals which usually have compromised bone support. There are many reports in literature describing the use of a loop connector in the maxillary anterior sextant. But, there are seldom reports about the use of a loop connector in the mandibular anterior region. This case report describes the use of a mandibular loop connector for the replacement of mandibular teeth where the adjacent teeth are periodontally compromised. AbstractAn endodontically treated teeth should have a good prognosis. It can resume full function and serve satisfactorily as an abutment for a fixed dental prosthesis (FDP) or a removable partial dental prosthesis. However, special techniques are needed to restore such a tooth. There are various techniques of post and core advocated in the literature. This case report presents the restoration of highly mutilated endodontically treated multi-rooted teeth using customized interlocking post and core technique.
