Apples are one of the fruits that much post-harvest processing can do. Apples can be processed into drinks or snacks. The need for information about nutritional content is needed by consumers. Therefore, a traceability information system is needed that can enable consumers to know the nutritional content involved. This research uses the Waterfall model information system development method and the Unified modeling language (UML). This method allows for the sequential development of information systems. The results of this research will be in the form of an information system that has been tested using the Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM) and Response for a Class (RFC) method. The resulting Response for a Class (RFC) value is 5.17, meaning that this information system will be easy to adapt later

Abstract A data-centric approach is proposed to facilitate the design and analysis of challenging complex systems and address the problems of currently existing model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies. More specifically, based on three core steps of current MBSE methodologies, a high-level data meta-model, depicting the semantic relationships of high-level data concepts, is first presented to guide the data modeling for systems engineering (SE). Next, with respect to the six high-level data concepts, the data elements are collected as the modeling primitives to construct static and/or executable models, which can also act as a common and consistent data dictionary for SE. Then, the mapping associations amongst core data elements are established to associate the model elements in different steps and achieve the requirement traceability matrix. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed approach is demonstrated with an illustrative example.

Software development is a complex endeavor. While significant benefits can be achieved, the process is often laborious, time consuming and error prone requiring multiple iterations in order to achieve the desired result. Issues arise for numerous reasons – coding defects, unclear requirements, migration challenges, lack of convention, and inadequate testing to name a few. When convention and automation are introduced into the software development lifecycle there are significantly fewer opportunities for failure. Automation also allows for shorter development windows. Generally there are fewer errors throughout testing, with the bulk of those being found in unit and functional testing, far before the users get involved in systems acceptance testing. A data warehouse consists of multiple subject areas in which many tasks are common and should be automated for the sake of efficiency and enforcing convention. This article discusses a set of tools that can be used to automate writing data warehouse objects. The article also provides statistics of time saved using automation.
