Semiconductor microcavities have been used in important studies of several areas for technological or purely scientific purposes. However, the definition of the optimal parameters for the fabrication of microcavities is a difficult task. Moreover, some uncertainties related to the growth process can change the device features. These problems cannot be experimentally controlled, hindering the development of theoretical models. In this work we present a theoretical model to simulate the microcavities and also propose an evolutionary approach to optimize the device under uncertainty in order to ensure the growth with the desired features. Thus, based on the reflectance spectra of a AlxGa1-xAs semiconductor microcavity, the aluminum concentrations, x, and the number of layers that compose the heterostructure were optimized. This set of parameters may offer increased robustness in the growth process, while providing a considerable quality factor and the desired position of the cavity resonance, achieving the device’s operation limits. The device was optimized considering the cavity resonance between 700nm and 2000nm, where the results indicate that the proposed algorithm is able to find satisfactory solutions, minimizing the problems caused by inaccuracy in the growth process.

The subject. The article is devoted to analysis of the basic models of criminal law and the impact of victim’s legal status on the criminal legal theory. The purpose of the paper is to substantiate the existence and the importance of “criminal law of victim” as basic model of criminal legal theory. The methodological basis of the research includes general-scientific methods (analysis and synthesis, system-structural approach) as well as academic methods (formal-legal method, method of interpretation of legal texts). Results and scope of application. The definition of the role of the victim, the importance of his legitimate interests in the implementation of criminal liability is complicated by the fact that the basic models of criminal law developed by science – “criminal law of the offender” and “criminal law of the crime” – do not consider the victim as a subject of criminal legal relations. The theoretical models of criminal law are embodied in the criminal law, specific legal rela-tions, law enforcement acts, etc., in connection with which there are specific indicators – the parameters by which it is possible to determine which model of criminal law is implemented. If the question of the criminal legal personality of the victim is controversial, in my opinion, there is no doubt that the victim is a party to the criminal law conflict, which often begins to unfold long before the crime.Conclusions. Recognizing the victim as a subject of criminal legal relations, as well as a par-ticipant in the criminal law conflict, it is possible to talk about the formation of a new model of criminal law – “the criminal law of victim”.

To construct beta converters with maximum efficiency it is necessary to carry out the theoretical calculation in order to determine their optimal parameters - the geometry of the structure, the thickness of the deposition of the radioisotope layer, the depth and the width of the p-n junction, and others. To date, many different theoretical models and calculations methods had been proposed. There are fairly simple theoretical models based on the Bethe-Bloch formula and the calculation of the rate of generation of electron-hole pairs, and on calculations by equivalent circuits. Also, the Monte-Carlo method is used for theoretical modeling of beta converters. This paper explores beta converter optimization using the Monte-Carlo method. The purpose of the study is to conduct Monte-Carlo simulation of the beta converter to determine its optimal parameters.

The progress in the search for proto-planetary nebulae (PPN) in the last 5 years is reviewed. An observational definition of PPN is developed and a list of current PPN candidates is given. The optical, infrared, and radio properties of PPN are summarized and compared with theoretical models.
