The research of motor vehicle tracking system using GPS have been done by some researchers. However those researches still have problems, such as the location’s accuracy, data transmision that is still manual using SMS, and systems that have not been integrated with the web server. This research applies the concept of Internet of Things on a vehicle system device consisting of four parts. There are an Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller as part of control, GY-NEO6MV2 GPS module providing position information, SIM900A GSM/GPRS module used to send or receive data from server, and web-based information system used to monitor position of vehicle. From the results it can be concluded that GPS Tracker device that was designed has ran well and produced an average error difference of 2,457 meters.

Vehicle tracking plays more important roles in modern transportation and logistics operation. This paper deals with a new approach to track vehicles based on RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. The basic steps of vehicle tracking based on RFID are introduced and a six-layered architecture for the vehicle tracking system integrating databases, RFID tags, RFID readers, data centers, networks and user interface is presented, where the positions of vehicles are attained directly by compared the RFID readers collecting vehicle RFID tags with their position information in the database. It is shown that this vehicle tracking method uses RFID more fully, the architecture with clear levels, adapts to the future technical and practical requirements, and can help fuse more complicated applications like intelligent charging and cargo tracking.

This study evaluates the importance of connecting objects through the concept of the Internet of things (IoT). There has been an increasing trend in the topic of the Internet of Things in various sectors. Almost all, such as area, devices, the software is connected which all can be accessed remotely or virtually through smart devices. The most typical invention is the smartphone which that acts like the computer and sometimes even smatter smarter when connected with web & internet. But the new term smart homes where all the devices and machinery are connected to ensure that all smart processes are smart. This can be extended to a smart village, smart city and smart industry. Here we introduce a vehicle tracking system by using the concept IoT. Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) is a protocol commonly used in the IoT platform to share information.  It can be used for both publishings and subscribe subscribing data from one end to another. Here we have used the same technique has been used in the present work to design a simulation to track the exact location of a given vehicle. IOT broker and the smart devices were integrated into the middleware enterprise service bus the middleware (ESB) architecture and the simulation was run with numerous geolocations.

This paper presents the innovative emergency Sanitation Operation System (eSOS) concept created to improve the entire emergency sanitation chain and provide decent sanitation to people in need. The eSOS kit is described including its components: eSOS smart toilets, an intelligent excreta collection vehicle-tracking system, a decentralized excreta treatment facility, an emergency sanitation coordination center, and an integrated eSOS communication and management system. The paper further deals with costs and the eSOS business model, its challenges, applicability and relevance. The first application, currently taking place in the Philippines will bring valuable insights on the future of the eSOS smart toilet. It is expected that eSOS will bring changes to traditional disaster relief management.
