New and rare orchid species (Orchidaceae) in the flora of Cambodia and Laos

The herbarium material collected in 2012–2017 in Cambodia and Laos provides data on 281 new localities of 110 orchid species from 48 genera for Laos, and 4 new localities of 4 species from 4 genera for Cambodia. Among them, 3 species present new records for the flora of Cambodia (Eria ochracea Rolfe, Luisia macrotisRchb. fil., Trichoglottis seidenfadenii Aver.); 1 genus (Abdominea J. J. Sm.), and 13 species are new to the flora of Laos (Abdominea minimiflora (Hook. fil.) J. J. Sm., Bulbophyllum nanopetalum Seidenf., Chiloschista parishii Seidenf., Cleisostoma tricornutum Aver., Didymoplexis vietnamica Ormerod, Gastrochilus hainanensis Z. H. Tsi, Hetaeria alata Ridl., Malleola seidenfadenii Christenson, Phaius takeoi (Hayata) H. J. Su, Sarcoglyphis yunnanensis Z. H. Tsi, Schoenorchis fragrans (E. C. Parish et Rchb. fil.) Seidenf. et Smitinand, Thrixspermum fragrans Ridl., T. hystrix (Blume) Rchb. fil.). One new species is described, Bulbophyllum pseudorufinum Aver. The reported data provide a substantial basis for the understanding of the present-day distribution of rare species in Eastern Indochina.

New records of 29 rare moss species of Saint-Petersburg and Leningrad Region are given. One new species for Saint-Petersburg and Leningrad Region (Schistidium papillosum Culm.) and two very rare species (Myurella julacea (Schwagr.) Bruch et al. and Hennediella heimii (Hedw.) R. H. Zander) are found. New data on 6 moss species included in the regional Red Data Book are obtained.

The phytoseiid mites of the Cape Verde archipelago are scarcely known. We report the results of a survey conducted on the islands of Santiago and Santo Antão, where phytoseiids were collected from native, cultivated and invasive plants. Fourteen species were collected, four of which represent new records for the islands. One new species, Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) macrodactylus Ferragut sp. nov., is described and illustrated. We describe the unknown male of Amblyseius neolargoensis van der Merwe, provide a redescription of the male of Euseius fustis (Pritchard & Baker) and additional morphological information for all examined species.

Baliothrips sunae sp.n. is described from eastern China, and eight thripid species are newly recorded from China. One species is shared with Europe, three with Australia and four with southeast Asia. Chilothrips Hood is synonymized with Oxythrips Uzel, and Graminothrips Zhang & Tong is synonymized with Organothrips Hood.

Two genera Dendrothrips Uzel and Pseudodendrothrips Schmutz are recorded from Saudi Arabia. A key is provided to eight members of Dendrothrips that have antennae with 9-segments and D. saudicus sp. n. is described in this group. P. aegyptiacus (Priesner) and P. stuardoi are newly reported from Saudi Arabia, with P. stuardoi rev. stat. from the leaves of Ficus carica being newly distinguished from P. mori (Niwa) that lives on the leaves of Morus alba. Some published records of P. mori from Mediterranean countries are possibly misidentifications of P. stuardoi.

Forty-one new species of the mostly neotropical genus Coniceromyia Borgmeier are described. The descriptions follow the methodology of recent works on the genus taxonomy and illustrate habitus, foremetatarsus, wing, hind femur, and hypopygium for each species. Unique features of some species are also illustrated, including several male features possibly related to sexual selection such as processes on different tarsomeres of the foreleg. New records for the known species are presented, as well as an identification key for the species of the genus and maps with their updated distribution. Coniceromyia brandaoi Ament & Amorim is synonymized with Coniceromyia plaumanni Borgmeier. Even though this work examined the Coniceromyia of the major collections of neotropical Phoridae, the high number of singletons and doubletons indicates that the real diversity of the genus may still be far from understood.

Ten taxa belonging to Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Bacillariophyceae and Euglenophyceae, and one with an uncertain taxonomic position have been described in this paper. According to previous reports, the number of cicada species known from Vietnam is 131; these represent 45 genera. Neotanna yunnanensis Lei et Chou, 1997 and Neotanna sinensis Ouchi, 1938 are transferred to Tanna Distant, 1905 to become Tanna yunnanensis (Lei et Chou, 1997) comb. nov. and Tanna sinensis (Ouchi, 1938) comb. nov., Proretinata vemaculata Chou & Yao, 1986 is transferred to Angamiana Distant, 1890 to become Angamiana vemacula (Chou et Yao, 1986) comb. nov.. Twenty additional species are here recorded for the fauna of Vietnam for the first time: Scolopita lusiplex Chou et Lei, 1997, Hea fasciata Distant, 1906, Hea yunnanensis Chou et Yao, 1995, Katoa chlorotica Chou et Lu, 1997, Mogannia effecta Distant, 1892, Nipponosemia guangxiensis Chou et Wang, 1993, Ambragaeana ambra Chou et Yao, 1985, Balinta tenebricosa (Distant, 1888), Gaeana cheni Chou et Yao, 1985, Gaeana hainanensis Chou et Yao, 1985, Sulphogaeana dolicha Lei, 1997, Paratalainga yunnanensis Chou et Lei, 1992, Formotosena seebohmi (Distant, 1904), Angamiana vemacula (Chou et Yao, 1986), Pomponia backanensis sp. nov., Purana guttularis (Walker, 1858), Tanna yunnanensis (Lei et Chou, 1997), Tanna sinensis (Ouchi, 1938), Euterpnosia ruida Lei et Chou, 1997, Inthaxara flexa Lei et Li, 1996, and Sinosemia shirakii Matsumura, 1927. One of these, Katoa chlorotica, is the first representative of the subfamily Tettigadinae and the tribe Tibicini for Vietnam. One new species, Pomponia backanensis sp. nov., is described and a key to species of Vietnamese Pomponia is provided.
