Perangkat sumber daya manusia menjadi bagian terpenting dalam menjalankan atau mengoperasikan sebuah perangkat komputer. Manusia merupakan suatu elemen dari sistem komputer yang merancang bagaimana suatu mesin dapat bekerja sesuai dengan hasil yang diinginkan. Istilah yang digunakan manusia untuk yang berhubungan dengan komputer adalah Brainware. Brainware adalah semua personil atau tenaga kerja dibidang komputer,yakni terlibat dalam pembentukan sistem komputerisasi maupun yang menangani dan mengawasi langsung bagian pengolahan data berbantuan komputer. This paper describes a series of 10,500 attempts at »pattern-recognition« by two groups of humans and a computer based system. There was little difference between the performances of 11 clinicians and 11 other persons of comparable intellectual capability. Both groups’ performances were related to the pattern-size, the accuracy diminishing rapidly as the patterns grew larger. By contrast the computer system increased its accuracy as the patterns increased in size.It is suggested (a) that clinicians are very little better than others at pattem-recognition, (b) that the clinician is incapable of analysing on a probabilistic basis the data he collects during a traditional clinical interview and examination and (c) that the study emphasises once again a major difference between human and computer performance. The implications as - regards human- and computer-aided diagnosis are discussed.

A computerized system has been discussed. It assists group discussion done in a classroom in the way that, first, it presents a topic with the relevant choices, second, each student selects a choice and sends it to the server, third, the server determines the groups according to the choices and other information, forth, it sends to the students’ cell phone the group information with each choice, lastly, students actually make group according to the given information then start to discuss. Relating to the system, this paper describes the configuration of the proposed computer system, two aspects of group division(difference in learning and similarity in learning), the algorithm of the group division, and the execution process of actual group discussions, assisted by this system, about specific topics.

Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP) integrated with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) will form the basis of engineering/planning systems of the future. These systems will have the capability to operate in a paperless environment and provide highly optimized process operation plans. The WELDEXCELL System is a prototype of such a system for welding in shipyards. The paper discusses three significant computer technology advances which have been in into the WELDEXCELL prototype. First is a computerized system for allowing multiple knowledge sources (expert systems, humans, data systems, etc.) to work together to solve a common problem (the weld plan). This system is called a "blackboard." The second is a methodology for the blackboard to communicate to the human user. This interface includes full interactive graphics fully integrated to CAD as well as data searches and automatic completion of routine engineering tasks. The third is artificial neural networks (ANS's), which are based on biological neural networks (such as the human brain) and which can do neural reasoning tasks about difficult problems. ANS's offer the opportunity to model highly complex multivariable and nonlinear processes (for example, welding) and provide a means for an engineer to quantitatively assess the process and its operation.

This chapter provides a practical approach to computerized system validation (CSV) for the pharmaceutical organizations for the users dealing with the validation. Validation package including plan, responsibilities, and documentation needed and created during the validation are also discussed. Any computer system can be validated utilizing the techniques described here. These activities address the organization commitment to implement the underlying system in order to improve, ensure and maintain the quality standards. The CSV is described as a reference and an orientation guide to understand the related quality processes. The activities presented here should be useful for initiating and conducting the principal tasks of validation. This chapter reflects a quick guide and addresses one of the “non-technical” aspects of CSV methodology. A clear approach is presented that defines the CSV activities and provides an efficient means of validation to new and existing systems, applications, and environments within the organization.

ABSTRACTThis article describes the development, use, and initial evaluation of a prototype computer system to enable nonspeaking persons with severe disabilities to engage in conversation on broad topics. The conversational aid produced (via a voice synthesizer) speech acts that were selected from a prestored menu, which was constructed by the user. Features of the system included facilities for switching the conversational perspective between the speaker and listener (i.e., “your experiences and views” vs. “my experiences and views”), providing a range of comments on what the other speaker had said, effecting repair when there was a conversational breakdown, and following predicted sequences of speech acts. The initial trials of the system produced dialogues that proceeded in a natural way and achieved encouraging conversational rates.
