This article presents the design and manufacture of an automated scale model of a four-circle single-crystal X-ray diffractometer that can be used for scientific dissemination. The purpose of this device is to reach out to the wider public and students to introduce them in an entertaining way to one of the laboratory apparatuses to which they do not usually have access, to talk to them about crystallography in the broadest sense, to develop concepts in various fields of science and technology, and to initiate interest and discussions. The main technical aspects of the project are described, with the expectation that such an approach could be useful to anyone involved in scientific dissemination and could be developed for other laboratory equipment and other disciplines. This kind of device can also be the subject of scientific and technological projects in close collaboration with educational institutions.

AbstractStent-assisted coiling is an endovascular means of managing wide-necked bifurcation aneurysms. In spite of the wide availability of various newer devices in managing such difficult aneurysms, the Y stenting offers a safe and cost-effective alternative to treat such cases in resource poor settings. This article provides an insight of our initial six cases of Y stent-assisted coiling along with their follow-up over a period of 6 months with no recanalization in any case. It also highlights the various technical aspects involved in such cases. One case had recurrent subdural hematoma probably due to use of antiplatelets and another patient had sudden dip in level of consciousness probably due to hematoma expansion that might also have been due to antiplatelet usage. However, none of the cases had any issues regarding stent migration, malapposition, and dissection. In our experience, Neuroform Atlas stent used for Y stenting offers a safe and technically easy alternative to various newer bifurcation devices.

Mental fatigue (MF) is a psycho-biological state that impairs sports-related performances. Recently, it has been proved that MF can affect basketball performance. However, a systematic overview detailing the influences of MF on basketball performance is still lacking. This study aims to investigate the effects of MF on the physical, technical, tactical, and cognitive performance of basketball. We used the databases of PubMed, Web of Science, SPORTDiscus, Scopes, and CKNI for articles published up to 31 May 2021. The articles included in this study were projected to test whether MF influences basketball athlete performance. Only experimental design studies were selected, and the control condition was without MF. Finally, seven articles fit the inclusion criteria. The results imply that MF impairs the technical aspects of basketball (free throws, three-point shots, and total turnover) and the players' cognitive [take-the-first (TTF) heuristics and decision-making] performance, which results in athletes not using their techniques skillfully and being unable to make practical decisions during critical points in the game. In addition to that, the influences of MF on physical and tactical performance have not been studied. Further studies should look into comprehensive research on the influences of MF on basketball performance, especially on a player's physical and tactical performance.Systematic Review Registration: [https://inplasy.com/] [INPLASY2021100017].

The article introduces the semiotic, cognitive, and technical aspects of the most important trends in the modern written communication, which arise as a result of the competition between acoustic-auditory and manual-visual codes. The author believes that Russian education has to adapt to the contemporary trends in virtual communication, which requires a preliminary research. The problem is that the integral-systemic presentation of communicative content is developing as a result of the growing share of visual data in various types of communication. The school course of Russian is based on elementary strategies and cannot keep up with these changes. Video-clip unites give the visual-written perception much better holistic possibilities than those of the phono-auditory-written channel. The competition of these two forms of writing is unlikely to displace the weaker opposition member. Chances are that it will redistribute their functions based on the advantages of each form.

The issues of organization and effectiveness assessment of the educational process in the distance learning system are discussed. The action research methodology is used for analysis of teaching and to assess the quality of communications between teachers and students in the process of online learning. The technical aspects of using distance technologies based on the Moodle platform are considered. The advantages and disadvantage of distance learning are analyzed in the opinion of students and teachers. Recommendations for improving the quality of education in the context of blended and distance learning are presented.

Learning communities have been successfully incorporated into undergraduate medical education around the globe. These communities promote student and faculty interaction as well as senior-to-junior student mentorship opportunities and vast learning experiences. These may positively impact the students' personal and professional development. This chapter focuses on the experience of one medical school during the design and implementation of a learning communities model incorporated into its curriculum. The authors expand on the technical aspects of the model and on challenges, solutions, and learning experiences gained during more than six years since the program's implementation in their institution.
