Abstract CDA ALLOY 725 (Now known as CDA ALLOY C72500) is a copper-nickel-tin alloy designed to improve the reliability of electrical connectors by resisting oxidation and thus providing improved solderability. It has a pleasant silver color and excellent joinability by soldering, brazing and spot and butt resistance welding. Its uses include electrical connectors, relay and switch springs, and builders' hardware. The revision is being made to correct an error in composition and for general updating. The original name (CDA ALLOY 725) is being retained because of the correction in composition. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-229. Producer or source: Copper and copper alloy mills. Originally published March 1971, revised July 1985.
