COPPER ALLOY No. C72800
Abstract Copper Alloy No. C72800 is a copper-nickel-tin spinodal alloy designed for high strength and excellent resistance to corrosion by salt water. It can be fabricated by the commonly-used processes. Among its many uses are springs, electrical contracts and relay elements, especially in marine environments and other places where resistance to salt water is required. This revision is being made to correct the section on Heat Treatment (specifically aging) and to expand the section on Corrosion Resistance. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-503. Producer or source: Copper and copper alloy mills.
