Abstract CRONIFER 2522 LCN is a fully austenitic chromium-nickel-molybdenum steel with an extremely low carbon content (0.020% maximum). It contains 0.10-0.14% nitrogen. It is outstanding because of its very low corrosion rates in the Huey test. CRONIFER 2522 LCN is recommended especially for those parts of urea plants that are subjected to the most corrosive conditions. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-430. Producer or source: Vereingte Deutsche Metallwerke AG.

Abstract AK Steel Type 316L is a Cr-Ni-Mo steel with a very low carbon content (0.03 max). Its general resistance to corrosion is similar to AISI Type 316 (see Alloy Digest SS-865, October 2002) but, because of its low carbon content, it has superior resistance to the formation of harmful carbides that contribute to intergranular corrosion. Type 316L is used widely in many industries such as chemical, food, paper, textile, nuclear, and oil. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-872. Producer or source: AK Steel Corporation.
