CARPENTER CTS BD1 ALLOY
Abstract Carpenter CTS BD1 alloy is a high-carbon chromium steel that provides stainless properties with high hardness and excellent wear resistance. In terms of hardness and wear resistance, this alloy behaves very similarly to tool steels. This alloy attains a hardness of 58–60 HRC when heat treated and has been used for cutlery, ball bearings, and small machinery parts subjected to high wear conditions. This datasheet provides information on composition and physical properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-1160. Producer or source: Carpenter Specialty Alloys.
