Abstract Ti-6A1-4V and its modification Ti-6A1-4V ELI are moderately age-hardenable titanium alloys, the latter containing extra low interstitials to impart additional toughness at sub-zero temperature. This alloy is the most widely used of all titanium alloys and a great wealth of data exists. Ti-6A1-4V is characterized as an alpha rich alpha-beta titanium alloy.
