Abstract Böhler K190 Microclean is a high-carbon, Cr-V-Mo, alloy cold-work tool steel that is produced by the powder metallurgy process. Compared to conventional tool steels, it exhibits a low inclusion level coupled with a highly homogeneous and fine-grained microstructure. It is used in challenging segments of cold work, where a combination of very high compressive strength, wear resistance, and toughness is required. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, and hardness. It also includes information on heat treating and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-810. Producer or source: voestalpine Böhler Edelstahl GmbH & Co KG.

Abstract Carpenter CTS-204P (Micro Melt 20-4) alloy is a highly wear- and corrosion-resistant, air-hardening martensitic cold-work stainless die steel produced using Carpenter’s Micro-Melt powder metallurgy process. The excellent wear resistance of the alloy is provided by a significant volume fraction of hard vanadium-rich carbides, while the outstanding corrosion resistance of the alloy is obtained as a result of the chromium-rich matrix. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on corrosion and wear resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: SS-1051. Producer or source: Carpenter Specialty Alloys.

Abstract UNS No. T30407 is a high-carbon chromium cold-work tool steel containing vanadium (4.0%) and molybdenum (1.0%). Its carbon and vanadium form a vanadium carbide that provides war resistance many times greater than that of UNS No. T30403 (AISI Type D3). UNS No. T30407 was developed for applications where extreme abrasive wear is needed. Its many applications include briquetting dies and punches, brick mold liners, pottery, tools, broaches, meat-chopper plates and cold-extrusion dies. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-439. Producer or source: Tool steel mills.
