Based on reinforcement theory, this paper examines (a) effects of Work-from-Home Human Resource Practices on the performance of online teaching faculty of educational institutes (b) impact of demographic factors on Human Resource Practices and (c) relationships between Training, Performance Appraisal, Career planning, Employee participation, Job definition, Compensation and Selection, and performance of online teaching faculty. Results confirm our hypothesis showing a relationship between seven Human Resource practices and performance of online teaching faculty. Ultimately confirming the first hypothesis that Work-from-Home Human Resource Practices negatively affect the performance of online teaching faculty of educational institutes. The study conducted in Higher Education Institutes in Sialkot, Punjab, Pakistan. Data collected from 179 faculty members using convenience sampling during the lockdown. Research limitations and future implications include reduced reachability for data collection during lockdown and collecting data from more males respectively while researching all universities in Pakistan.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of work-from-home (WFH) human resource (HR) practices on the performance of faculty under the drastic circumstances of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The population of the study included faculty members of the higher education institutions in Sialkot, Pakistan. The study filled the gap of scarce literature on the impact of various HR practices by HR officials while working from home during lockdown observed to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Based on reinforcement theory, this article proves that there is a significant relationship between HR practices (including training, performance appraisal, career planning, employee participation, job definition, compensation, and selection) and faculty performance. It also proves that there is a strong positive relationship between the two variables. The findings of this study provide a blueprint to improve HR practices for high performance by faculty in the higher education sector during WFH settings.

This research examines the relationships between HRM practices and performance of manufacturing SMEs in Ha Noi. Questionnaires were sent to CEOs, business owners, or human resource managers at 300 manufacturing SMEs in Ha Noi, 245 responses were collected and 200 qualified responses were left after screening. The findings indicate positive relationships between training, performance appraisal, incentive compensation and performance of manufacturing SMEs in Hanoi. This study partly clarifies the conflicting results of the previous studies on the relationships between training, performance appraisal, incentive compensation and firm performances.

Objective - The study explores the relationships between human r esource management practices on employee retention in Malaysian industrial setting s . The human resource management practices such as selection, training and development, performance appraisal and reward were considered in this study as the main factors that impact the employee retention in an organization Methodology/Technique - All d ata used in th is study consist s of respondents of executives and managers in manufacturing companies located in Klang Valley, Malaysia. Data processing and statistical analyses were mainly carried out using SPSS. Reliability test was used to check the con sistency and dimensionality of the scale items. P e a rson Intercorrelation was used to measure the associations among the human resource practices and employee retention and Multiple Regression Analysis to check the criterion - related validity of the scale i tems and to complement the correlation results. Findings - Data from 151 respondents from various industries show ed that the reward was most correlated with employee retention. This is followed by performance appraisal, in which fair and inclusive appraisa l leads to better retention. On the contrary, selection was found to have least significance relationship with employee retention. Novelty - The contribution of the study is in asserting some findings for human resource manager to understand the importanc e of an effective HRM practices on employee retention in the manufacturing industry. Apart from that, this research provides an understanding of some important elements in human resource management practices that are more effective in employee retention. Organisations, including hotels, usually have more than one human resource practices system. Thus, this book is written to provide an understanding of the human resource practice system for managerial and non-managerial employees in the context of hotel industry. This book focuses specifically on five-star beach resort hotels in Malaysia. The human resource practices system for managerial employees includes empowerment while the recruitment and selection is more thorough. Their compensation is more attractive and their training is more rewarding. Both groups of employees are provided with a clear job description, orientation, employment security, objective performance appraisal, career development opportunity and effective communication.

<span lang="EN-US">The study is aimed to identify various human resource practices in the public healthcare sector and to measure the level of human resource practices. The study adopts the perceptual view of healthcare professionals such as medical officers and staff nurses working in Primary Health Centres of Tamilnadu. A survey using a questionnaire is used to collect data from healthcare professionals. The results indicated that human resource practices such as job autonomy and job security are perceived to be useful and necessary, while training and performance management system are found to provide necessary inputs for carrying job duties and practices such as career growth opportunities and compensation need the attention of the officials of Health and Family Welfare department of Tamilnadu Government for enhancing the utility of these practices</span><span>.</span>

The objective of this study was to test the developed models with empirical evidence regarding job satisfaction (JS) and organizational commitment (OC) as mediators and influential variables concerning problems with performance appraisal and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). The sample consisted of 450 employees who worked at the operational level in automobile parts manufacturing companies in the Navanakorn Industrial Estate, Thailand. The study’s instrument was applied from previous research and verified for content validity and reliability before collecting the data. Structural equation analysis of 5000 rounds of bootstrapping was used to examine the model developed from the empirical data and the influence of problem variables in appraising work performance. The developed model fitted well with the empirical evidence. JS and OC were identified as mediators among problem variables in appraising performance and OCB, while problem variables in appraising work performance influenced OCB through JS and OC. Findings from this study expand our knowledge of this field and are useful for effective human resource management and performance appraisal. The developed model explains the phenomena of problems with performance appraisal concerning fairness, JS, OC, and OCB. JS and OC are useful mediators to explain and expand knowledge in human resource management and performance appraisal.

The purpose of this study is to explore and analyze the determinants of job satisfaction in academic professional of Pakistan. The job satisfaction was considered dependent variable and human resource management (HRM) practices (training and development, performance appraisal, career planning, and compensation) were predictor variables. Linear regression model was used in this study that demonstrated the overall effect of variable and data was collected from faculty members of four (two public and two private) different universities of Pakistan. It has been found that performance appraisal and compensation are important determinants of job satisfaction among faculty members. Therefore, the management of universities in Pakistan should give considerable emphasis on performance appraisal. Interestingly, the analysis of means variation and independent t-test did not demonstrate a difference between faculty members of public and private universities in terms of job satisfaction and HRM practices. Future investigations should explore the underlying mechanism between the HRM practices and job satisfaction.

Recently, human resource practices have been considered as the foremost solution for high organizational performance and attained the focus of recent studies and regulators. Therefore, the present study investigates the impact of human resource practices such as recruitment and selection, training and development, reward and compensation, and performance management on SMEs performance in Pakistan. The present research also examines the mediating role of employee engagement among the nexus of recruitment and selection, training and development, reward and compensation, performance management, and SMEs performance in Pakistan. This research has adopted the questionnaires to collect the data and executed the smart-PLS to analyze the data. The results revealed that recruitment and selection, training and development, reward and compensation, and performance management have a positive association with SMEs’ performance. The findings also exposed that employee engagement positively mediating the links among recruitment and selection, training and development, reward and compensation, performance management, and SMEs performance in Pakistan. This study has provided the guidelines to the policymakers that they should extend their focus towards human resource practices that improve organizational performance.
