Thecontrol system is designed to assist and provide support in order to fulfill the needs of elderly and disabled in home. Automation of the surrounding environment of a modern human being allows increasing his work efficiency and comfort. There has been a significant development in the area of an individual's routine tasks and those can be automated. In the present times, we can find most of the people clinging to their mobile phones and smart devices throughout the day. Hence with the help of his companion-a mobile phone, some daily household tasks can be accomplished by personifying the use of the mobile phone. Analyzing the current smart phone market, most users are opting for Android based phones. It has become a second name for a mobile phone in layman terms. Home Automation System has been designed for mobile phones having Android platform to automate an WIFI interfaced Arduino which controls a number of home appliances like lights, fans, bulbs and many more using on/off relay. This paper presents the automated approach of controlling the devices in a household that could ease the tasks of using the traditional method of the switch. The most famous and efficient technology for short range wireless communication-WIFI is used here to automate the system. The HAS system for Android users is a step towards the ease of the tasks by controlling one to twenty-four different appliances in any home environment.

The main purpose of this paper is to improve the automation system at home using the Arduino keyboard with Bluetooth controlled by any Android OS smart phone. Technology and electronics have become commonplace in the last year of technology. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of the Home Automation System in conjunction with Home Housing and the best features of home automation with remote access. In this research project part of the smart home technology, Bluetooth on a smart phone is used, so it is cheap and usable. The app includes four main features: an Arduino keyboard, a Bluetooth signal transmission module, a music speaker and an Android-powered smartphone to control devices. By using the smart phone app, we can control household items and provide security to deter people. The idea of paper is to control household items to avoid the risk of electric shock and ease of use for people with disabilities who have easy access and control of household items by staying in a certain place.

Abstract The development of Smart Home Controllers has seen rapid growth in recent years, especially for smart devices, that can utilize the Internet of Things (IoT). However, a large portion of the household devices and appliances already in use, are not IoT enabled, and therefore, requires their default control mechanisms for the devices to operate. This paper proposes a smart appliance controller that uses Augmented Reality, MQTT, and other up-to-date platforms to control aftermarket home appliances in the most efficient manner. The proposed work integrates mobile AR with IoT, to control household appliances, with the help of infrared (IR) signals. The characteristics of the system are evaluated through a series of tests and performance measures. The results of the test highlight th quick response time of MQTT for the implementation of a Home Automation System, when compared to the request-reply protocol: CoAP (4 times as fast).

Internet of Things (IoT) conceptualizes the idea of remotely connecting and monitoring real world objects through the Internet. Home monitoring and home automation are utilized in order to uphold the comfortable living conditions within a home. This IoT project focuses on building a smart wireless home automation system. A low cost flexible and reliable home automation system with additional security using Arduino microcontroller, with IP connectivity through local Wi-Fi for accessing and controlling devices by authorized user remotely using Smart phone application. The proposed system is server independent and uses Internet of Things to control human desired appliances starting from industrial machine to consumer goods. To demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of this system, we present a home automation system using Arduino IDE software and ESP-32 microcontroller as a connectivity module. It helps the user to control various appliances such as light, fan, TV and can take decision based on the feedback of sensors remotely

Smart homes can be of great benefit for both, energy and water management which not only helps to save money but can be highly beneficial for the environment. Such smart automation not only offers optimum consumption of these resources but also leads to higher comfort and conveniences for the users and residents. Recent developments in sensing, networking and communication technologies offering new and advanced forms to link a variety of things around us even with the people. Further, integration of internet of things (IoTs) services by embedding intelligence into these sensors and actuators and connecting them smartly are gaining great popularity to enhance the comfort and quality of life. This paper presents a flexible and low-cost home automation system using various sensors to control the commonly used home appliances and devices where IP connectivity is provided to access and manage them remotely. For this purpose, an Android-based app is developed which can be installed on any smartphone in order to monitor and control the devices from any location. The evaluation of the integrated sensors with the devices and switches shows that the system can offer great automation to achieve the idea of smart homes.
