This paper deals with the efficiency and sustainability of urban rail transit (URT) using exploratory data analytics (EDA) and data envelopment analysis (DEA). The first stage of the proposed methodology is EDA with already available indicators (e.g., the number of stations and passengers), and suggested indicators (e.g., weekly frequencies, link occupancy rates, and CO2 footprint per journey) to directly characterize the efficiency and sustainability of this transport mode. The second stage is to assess the efficiency of URT with two original models, based on a thorough selection of input and output variables, which is one of the key contributions of EDA to this methodology. The first model compares URT against other urban transport modes, applicable to route personalization, and the second scores the efficiency of URT lines. The main outcome of this paper is the proposed methodology, which has been experimentally validated using open data from the Transport for London (TfL) URT network and additional sources.

Based on the operation and management of station, the research was mainly about the risk assessment method of the crowd crushing and tramping accidents in urban rail transit stations. The indicator system about the crowd crushing and tramping accidents in urban rail transit station was established. The C2R model of data envelopment analysis (DEA) was used in the risk assessment, and the model was solved with MATLAB programming. The result of the analysis is generally consistent with the actual situation.

With the rapid development of Beijing's economy and society and the continuous expansion of urban space. In this regard, the government proposes to vigorously develop public transport, especially to increase the construction of rail transit network to solve urban transport problems. Transit-oriented development(TOD )mode is a land development mode dominated by rail transit. Through the mixed use of land, a good walking environment is established, so as to achieve the coordination of transportation and space. This paper analyses the current situation and problems of Beijing's urban rail transit development, and concludes Beijing's urban traffic problems. Based on the study of TOD mode and in-depth study of the theory of urban rail transit construction and the experience of rail transit construction at home and abroad, This paper summarizes the current situation of the traffic space, residential space, commercial space and recreational space around the west entrance of Qinghua East Road of Beijing Metro, and puts forward the redesign of the traffic space, residential space, commercial space and recreational space. I hope that the analysis of Wudaokou metro station under TOD mode can provide reference for others to do TOD theory for urban rail transit station planning.

The article familiarizes the reader with the concept of Bus Rapid Transit systems as a type of transport that combines the advantages of conventional buses, tramways and urban rail transit systems. For this purpose, the genesis of the idea of BRT systems was presented and the system functioning in Curitiba, considered to be the progenitor of the concept, was described. In the second part, the advantages and disadvantages of BRT systems as compared with other means of urban transport were described and differences between BRT subtypes, including BRT Lite, Heavy and Full BRT were presented. The final part of the article was devoted to illustrating the process of expansion of BRT systems around the world and the development of these systems in selected countries.
