Distribution Of Magnetization

One of the possible approaches to reconstructing the map of the distribution of magnetization parameters in the crust of Mars from the data of the Mars MAVEN orbiter mission is considered. Possible ways of increasing the accuracy of reconstruction of the magnetic image of Mars are discussed.

Pole Motion

In this article, we intended to see whether we can obtain the same pole motion from two kinds of telescopes: the floating zenith telescope (PZT) and the ILS zenith telescope (VZT). The observations with the PZT have been pursued since 1967.0 with a star list whose star places are taken from the PK4 and its supplement. We revised the method of reduction of the observations with the PZT by adopting a variable scale value for the photographic plate (Takagi et al., 1974).

Image Detail

Several aspects of magnetic and electric effects in electron microscope images are of interest and will be discussed here. Clearly electrons are deflected by magnetic and electric fields and can give rise to image detail. We will review situations in ferromagnetic films in which magnetic image effects are the predominant ones, others in which the magnetic effects give rise to rather subtle changes in diffraction contrast, cases of contrast at specimen edges due to leakage fields in both ferromagnets and superconductors and some effects due to electric fields in insulators.
