In this paper the descriptor continuous-time linear systems with the regular matrix pencil ( E , A ) are investigated using Drazin inverse matrix method. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the stability and superstability of this class of dynamical systems are established. The procedure for computation of the state-feedback gain matrix such that the closed-loop system is superstable is given. The effectiveness of the presented approach is demonstrated on numerical examples.

Abstract The Drazin inverse of matrices is applied to find the solutions of the state equations of the fractional descriptor continuous-time systems with regular pencils. An equality defining the set of admissible initial conditions for given inputs is derived. The proposed method is illustrated by a numerical example.

Positive fractional continuous-time linear systems with singular pencils A method for checking the positivity and finding the solution to the positive fractional descriptor continuous-time linear systems with singular pencils is proposed. The method is based on elementary row and column operations of the fractional descriptor systems to equivalent standard systems with some algebraic constraints on state variables and inputs. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the positivity of the fractional descriptor systems are established.

Abstract The asymptotic stability of positive fractional switched continuous-time linear systems for any switching is addressed. Simple sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of the positive fractional systems are established. It is shown that the positive fractional switched systems are asymptotically stable for any switchings if the sum of entries of every column of the matrices of all subsystems is negative.

Checking of the positivity of descriptor linear systems by the use of the shuffle algorithmNecessary and sufficient conditions for the positivity of descriptor continuous-time and discrete-time linear systems are established. The shuffle algorithm is applied to transform the state equations of the descriptor systems to their equivalent form for which necessary and sufficient conditions for their positivity have been derived. A procedure for checking the positivity of the descriptor systems is proposed and illustrated by numerical examples.

Abstract A minimum energy control problem for fractional positive continuous-time linear systems with bounded inputs is formulated and solved. Sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution to the problem are established. A procedure for solving the problem is proposed and illustrated with a numerical example.

AbstractThe positivity of time-varying continuous-time linear systems and electrical circuits are addressed. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the positivity of the systems and electrical circuits are established. It is shown that there exists a large class of positive electrical circuits with time-varying parameters. Examples of positive electrical circuits are presented.

The step responses of positive fractional continuous-time linear systems and electrical circuits described by different models will be investigated and comparison of the models will be performed. Solutions to the state equations of continuous-time linear systems described by Caputo and Caputo-Fabrizio derivatives and necessary and sufficient conditions of the positivity of fractional systems will be recalled. Considerations will be illustrated by numerical examples.
