The paper presents a microstrip patch antenna with dual band-notched characteristics. The proposed antenna is fed by a thin microstrip patch and provides band-notched characteristics by etching 2 symmetric C-shaped notches and one hollow cylindrical arc-shaped notch and notched partial ground. The antenna size was 30x19 mm2, covering a range from 2.8-12.3 GHz. The UWB covers a large band of frequencies including WLAN band (4.75-5 GHz) and the X-Band (7.75-8.35 GHz). To prevent interference with the operation of our antenna and devices operating in these bands, the frequencies are rejected through notches in the antenna. The simulated results show that the VSWR of the antenna is <-10 in the radiating bandwidth. This can be used in wireless applications.

This paper proposes a compact sized dual band microstrip patch antenna with microstrip feed line. The patch of antenna is a rectangular shaped patch which has a circular slot in the patch for multiband operations. This antenna covers frequency bands, centered at 2.4GHz, 3.3GHz, which is useful for the C-band and X-band operations. In this paper, a microstrip patch antenna with compact size of 21x17x1.6 mm in rectangular shape. This antenna is designed on FR4 substrate (Dielectric constant=4.4) of thickness h=1.6mm with ground of size 25x10 mm. The proposed structure were simulated on CADFEKO simulation software. This proposed antenna is suitable for multiband wireless communication systems and mobile equipments.

<p>This paper presents Dual-Band proximity coupled feed rectangular Microstrip patch antenna with slots on the radiating patch and Defected Ground Structure. Initially a simple proximity coupled feed rectangular Microstrip patch antenna resonating at 2.4 GHz is designed. Etching out a ‘Dumbbell’ shaped defect from the ground plane and ‘T’ shaped slot from the radiating patch of the proximity coupled feed rectangular Microstrip patch antenna, results in a Dual-Band operation, i.e., resonating at 2.4 GHz and 4.5 GHz; with 30.3 % and 18.8% reduction in the overall area of the patch and the ground plane of the reference antenna respectively. The proposed antenna resonates in S-band at frequency of 2.4 GHz with bandwidth of 123.6 MHz and C-band at frequency of 4.5 GHz with bandwidth of 200 MHz, and a very good return loss of -22.1818 dB and -19.0839 dB at resonant frequency of 2.4 GHz and 4.5 GHz respectively is obtained. The proposed antenna is useful for different wireless applications in the S-band and C-band.</p>

In this paper, a novel dual band microstrip patch antenna based on composite patch antenna and radiating part. By selecting a suitable offset feed position, it is feasible to provide 50Ω characteristic impedance and thus making better impedance matching. The proposed antenna has been improved broader bandwidth by using RT Duroid substrate. The radiating part is plays a important role in creating a lower operating band (2.45 GHz) in addition to achieve miniaturization. The proposed antenna has to be fabricated with RT / Duroid substrate and dimensions of 19 × 22 × 0.8 mm. The measured -10 dB bandwidth of 200 MHz at 2.45 GHz and 990 MHz at 5.45 GHz, which is quite useful for Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) and WLAN applications.
