The article discusses the results of theoretical studies of vibrations of a plastic grate on elastic supports of a coarse litter cleaner under accidental exposure to raw cotton. Graphical dependences of changes in displacements and vibration rate of the grate on changes in the coefficients of stiffness, dissipation and on the disturbing load from raw cotton at various values of the grate mass are constructed. Based on the analysis of the obtained graphical dependencies, the values of the system parameters are recommended. KEYWORDS: plastic grates, elastic supports, raw cotton, plastic pipes, mass, polyethylene, stiffness coefficient.

One of the major parameters of a hydraulic machine is its energy intensity, i.e. its power/output ratio. This article presents the results of theoretical studies of the effects of additional head loss of transporting fluid through helically coiled flexible pipe on specific energy consumption of fertigation machinery and pipeline transport. Computational methods have been used to determine that pressure loss will be 15-20% higher on the average than the loss at a straight section, depending on the average radius of coil helix/design pipe diameter ratio. Correlations have been obtained that allow for justification of major mobile fertilizer system parameters based on the need to minimize pressure loss.

Solutions for nondimensional dynamic response histories are formulated for an undamped, continuous, Bernoulli-Euler beam resting on discrete, evenly-spaced, equal elastic supports. Responses depend on: The distribution of the constant force loads; a dimensionless load speed parameter; and the ratio of support stiffness to beam stiffness. Peak midspan moments and deflections are calculated over a wide range of system parameters for several beam configurations. Results are that the extreme end spans have the peak dynamic responses; that these responses increase as the relative support stiffness increases; and responses may become unbounded. Experimental measurements complement the calculations. Results are applicable to the design of cable-stayed guideways for advanced transit systems.

The drive screw is simplified as a rotating Tinoshenko beam under the pre-tension force. Using boundary conditions and continuity conditions, the frequency equation of the screw with the elastic supports is derived considering the effect of gyroscope, the pre-tension force, the bearing stiffness, and the contact between the worktable and the screw. The effect of the system parameters on the lateral natural frequency is studied to supply a base for designing the drive system.

The article provides an analysis of existing separators for raw cotton. Their disadvantages are described. The design scheme and the principle of operation of the separator with side grids of the air duct with curved conical holes are presented. The results of theoretical studies to determine the strength of Stripping and justification of the system parameters. The results of comparative production tests of the recommended separator design for fibrous materials are presented.

Abstract.Recent photometric and spectroscopic observations of the dwarf nova system Z Cha are discussed. Methods for constraining the system parameters are applied and the disc emissivity is deduced as a function of radius. Indications are found that the disc shrinks in size with increasing time after outburst.
